Your message about Vital articles

Thanks much, I wasn't aware of that effort. While I'm getting my thoughts together, I copied your message to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Judaism. I hope you don't mind. Cheers. ←Humus sapiens ну? 09:36, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Thanks for the barnstar. We need as much help on Wiki Central Asia as we can possibly think of. The project is in disarray. Your help is appreciated!cs 18:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Sure. How do you want me to help? KlakSonnKeep it to yourself 18:46, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry I can not read Persian. Tried and failed few years ago. I am a big fan of Kiorastami and Panahi though.
Assessment page. I am not wiki-literate enough to understand all these rank producing categories, tables etc. Thanks anyway, any help is appreciated. cs 18:54, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
I believe {WikiProject Central Asia} template has a problem. It does not produce empty rating lines. I might be wrong though. cs 19:51, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I see it works now. Your participation significantly improved two project areas, deletion sorting, and assessment. And duly noted. Best regards.cs 05:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Vital articles and VA tagging

I think the two are pretty much the same. But from what I remember the VA tagging list is from an older list of vital articles, and isn't automatically updated. I noted that you proposed these additions first, and that's probably the best way to go. Exactly when the tagging list is updated is something I'm probably too new to be able to really address, though. User:Walkerma is much better experienced in these matters, and I think he's probably the one to contact regarding points like that. John Carter 19:49, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome to add this template to your userpage. A category has been created as well. KlakSonnKeep it to yourself 03:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Of course not, I didn't even add it to my userpage. The template might meet some opposition, and I hope you would be able to assist me in resisting to it. KlakSonnKeep it to yourself 04:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Then if you need any help in Hezbollah articles, let me know. KlakSonnKeep it to yourself 05:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

300 Edits

As the Lead is still in Discussion, its seen as tendentious editing to edit in a change which hasn't met with consensus as of yet. I do think that your proposed lead statement is worth discussing, and maybe even implementing, so I've moved the proposed lead over to the Discussion page under a new header showing both the prior paragraph and your proposed changes. That way, the otehr editors can weigh in. This reduces edit warring and charges of pov-pushing in the article and in the Discussion area. I did not alter your edits one bit in transferring them over (wouldn't want to make a mistake as I did with the archive), and I wanted to point out that the term you substituted 'highly crystallized' should in fact be 'highly stylized' - unless you were moving in a different direction altogether. I also did not address the sentence fragment that the edit left behind. If it gets implemented, you might want to address that. Talk to you soon, -Arcayne 06:47, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Btw, that is an awesome consensus flow chart. Where did you get that? I hope you don't mind, but I've added that to my own Talk page - it's very nifty :) Arcayne 06:49, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Your messages on my talk page

I appreciate your efforts, thinking you can resolve disputes by posting threatening comments in Persian on my talk page. However I just wanted to suggest that you stop taking it personally, if we can't resolve it, perhaps we can ask for a third opinion or other dispute resolutions. However meanwhile I would appreciate it if you refrained from automatically reverting my tags and edits, until we have a solution. Maybe Wikipedia:Assume good faith and Wikipedia:Resolving disputes would make a good read --Rayis 10:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I notice you've placed a Wikipedia:POV check template on the article 300 (film). I feel it's inappropriate, and have opened a thread on talk here, where I would invite you to offer your justification for its use. Best, --Javits2000 11:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Mahdi merge proposal

Sa, let's wait until there have been more comments until the tag is removed. If people don't agree with the idea, then I can understand and support that, but let's give it a chance to develop consensus. Elijahmeeks 18:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Mahdi Revert

(Also posted on my user page) You disagreed with every change that I made?? That seems rather heavy-handed, as I explained my position on the talk page. I'd prefer if we could figure this out, rather than just perform blanket reverts. Please revert the page back and make changes or explain to me with particular sections that you disagree with. One more standing issue

sorry to bother you again :( But since you gave a hand...I was browsing through Central Asia categories. I noticed that when we rate articles now, it puts them on pages like [Category: Stub class Central Asia articles], (pages not created yet).. How do we resolve this issue? thanks and best regards —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cs (talkcontribs) 20:17, 2 April 2007 (UTC).

let me put it this way

check this page I rated Talk:Demographics_of_Kazakhstan. There are two red categories at the bottom of the page: These pages are uncreated. But we already have a Category:Start Class Central Asia-related articles which is under the Category:Central Asia articles by quality page where the rating should put the Demographics of Kazakhstan page. My rating did not put the page under the existing category page. Do you see what I mean. That is the case for stub, and other categories too. regards.cs 09:02, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Iranian Revolution

Salam. Thanks for letting me know. I have left a response there. BTW I don't think the article on Iranian Revolution should only use American sources. That is a huge mistake. American authors mostly have a flawed view of the revolution, and only focus on the Khomeini camp, when in fact Shariati was the most popular among the educated Islamists, and the nationalists being most popular among the middle-classes and the Communists among workers, especially in the north. The Khomeini cult was mostly popular among the rural folk of central Iran and the villages of Azarbaijan who were under clerical influence. Unfortunately I have no books on the revolution on hand at the moment. BTW, do you have information about Nasser Pourpirar? This guy is really something else. Khorshid 03:48, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you have this page of templates User:Sa.vakilian/Some usable templates which is a good idea to have a resource of your frequently used templates, but by adding them to that page, it puts the page in categories. The reason I saw it was because I was clearing out the candidates for speedy deletion and your page was in there. If you want you can just link the template with the double square brackets or you could use {{tl|example template}}. That will appear as {{example template}} (obviously with a link to the template, not some blank page). Thanks for your time. James086Talk | Email 09:29, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, I did find sources, and many books including Nahj el Balagha narrate how Abu Bakr and Omar killed her. Also, all Shi'a scholars agree that Fatima was the Prophet's only daughter. Thanks anyway. KlakSonnTalk 14:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Watch this [2] You're the first Shi'a I've encountered who doesn't know the story of Fatimah's death. KlakSonnTalk 18:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Core topics, Vital articles, and the 1.0 project

Hi, sorry I took a few days, I've been very busy. The 1.0 team needs to do several tasks in order to achieve the goal of producing good offline releases:

  • Selecting articles for the next release version - currently Version 0.7. This is probably our main task, and you sign up as a member of the review team to do this. We will soon have a bot helping us.
  • Maintaining a network of WikiProjects (and the related bot) that provides us with article assessments. Support and guide the projects in this work, in conjunction with WP:COUNCIL.
  • Locating areas where our coverage is weak, and making sure we cover those areas in our releases (perhaps by helping with new WikiProjects, and article assessments).
  • Producing a list (or lists) of "must have" articles we consider essential for all releases, and improving these up to A-Class.

Your question mainly relates to "must have" collections of articles - the last item on the list - so I'll focus my answer on that. The only such collection organized by the 1.0 team is the Core Topics collection. VAs and WP:CONCISE are autonomous pages set up by individuals - so anything you do at WP:VA will not affect anything else. These collections should really coalesce around specific pages, but there has been a little forking at times. There are basically three levels:

  1. Core topics (top 150 or so) + Core topics supplement (another 200 or so)
  2. Vital articles (top 1000 or so) + expanded Vital articles set (top 1000 + perhaps 500 more). It appears that Wikipedia:Core topics - 1,000 is some kind of fork of that, but that page is less active.
  3. WP:CONCISE (top 10,000 or so).

The Core Topics collaboration is where people work together to improve one of the core topic articles. We have now managed to get most of the core topics past "Start-Class" to at least B, this has been very useful.

One problem we have had is that the person who was keeping the Core Topics pages organized has moved on to other things outside Wikipedia, and no one has been willing to take over her job since she left. I pretty much have my hands full with Version 0.5 and WP:WVWP, so I can't really do much, though I have been keeping the Collaboration going as this has been moderately active. The various Core Topics lists were all produced manually, and copied over into different formats. Probably what we need is to remove the manual lists and rely on the Bot lists. We already have all of the main Core list tagged, and these are read by the WP1.0 bot, though we are updating the template used for that.

I think we probably need to do the following in the next three months:

  • Get all Core Topics, Core Topic Supplements, and perhaps Vital articles (short & long forms) using the bot, then use those lists for the Core topics at least.
  • Get the above using the new template.
  • Then delete the existing Core Topics manual lists and replace these with lists automatically generated by the bot - these would stay more up to date.
  • Get someone to coordinate and maintain the Core Topics project.
  • Produce a navigational template for the Core Topics project, including VA, CONCISE, etc. similar to the one I did for WVWP.

Maybe you'd be interested in working on this part of the project - the "must have" lists? Or, if you signed on for the review team, would you prefer to be reviewing articles for the next release? Please let me know. I hope I have clarified things for you, and not merely added to your confusion! The 1.0 project has many, many corners to it! Thanks for helping out, Walkerma 14:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Probably the best thing is to focus on that one issue for now. If you like it, maybe we can persuade you to coordinate WP:CORE for us? :) To change the VA list, you will have to negotiate with the main people who are active on the page, these have generally been User:dv82matt and User:Silence, and reach a consensus with them. Remember that everyone brings their own bias and opinion - for example, I think we should have about 150 countries listed at VA (partly as a way of making the list less Eurocentric), but Silence has vigorously argued for only 50 or less. Do you have lots of biographies, or concepts, or subject areas like Computer science? Where's the balance? You seem to include a lot of biographies, but dv82matt and myself have argued that we should limit these to make room for subjects and places. I would argue, for example, that if you want to include Avicenna you need to include Uzbekistan first.
If you scroll up the page, you can see my suggestion for determining notability with less bias, by using the number of interwiki links. Thus, if something is truly notable around the world, people in every language would have an article on it. (Uzbekistan has 87, Avicenna 39 - the latter is a pretty high interwiki score for a biography article). (Incidentally, I've seen Avicenna's statue in Bukhara, hence my choice). Sometimes our favourite person doesn't get a high rating - I think Belisarius deserves more fame, for example - but we just have to accept that our opinions aren't universally held. The interwiki links are relatively objective, I think. Good luck, Walkerma 15:39, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

In re your question -- Image:Rumi concert nazeri.gif seems fine. Agha you want to see anti-Islamic bigotry --- have a look at Criticism of Islam. Any criticism of the article's bias and prejudice against Muslims is quickly tossed away (see Talk:Criticism of Islam). Compare this article with Antisemitism and Criticism of Judaism. Double standard or what? Its disgusting that Wikipedia is being used to promote this anti-Muslim hatred. Pat Robertson, Bat Ye'or, etc are bigots, yet they are labelled as "critics"! This is like labelling Adolf Hitler and David Duke as critics of Judaism. Khorshid 11:28, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Need a third opinion

Hi.

Take a look at: Talk:Quds_Force#A_review. I want your opinion on that article, as my tags about neutrality and factuality of this article is being reverted. I believe the removal of the tags is the editor's POV pushing, as he/she has tried to "retaliate" by doing the same on a well-sourced article: US raid on Iranian liaison office in Arbil. I appreciate if you help regarding the NPOVing the article. Thanks.--Gerash77 21:53, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Hezbollah

Salamat. I just want to discuss the Heabollah Article that is on Wikipedia... Isn't it bullshit? Ahmadhusseini 23:42, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Guys We are being drained!!!! Why can't we keep a page that is unbiased in the terms of Hezbollah. Please guys, why are you soooooooo dead, I'm ashamed of the lack of effort that is draining us and creating false images of us.Ahmadhusseini 23:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

George...

No worries. I've tried to summarize the section the dispute seems to be over. Hopefully both sides find it acceptable, but who knows. :) Cheers. — George Saliba [talk] 07:31, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Your edit looks good. I was about to change the word "claims" also. What do you think of using the word "asserts" instead of "announced"? Assert is defined as "to declare or affirm solemnly and formally as true." — George Saliba [talk] 07:41, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
The term "declared" wouldn't be bad either. "Announced" is usually used when talking to an audience – you announce the winner of a contest to your radio listeners, you announce a new product, etc. — George Saliba [talk] 07:47, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

I've tried to clean up the sentences you mention a bit – please take a look. Basically, I've changed the "some newspapers" to cite the Daily Star specifically, since that's what the article says originally published it, but to state "Others" broadly, since the paragraph also talks about some historian. Let me know if you have ideas to improve it further, or be bold and have at it yourself. :) — George Saliba [talk] 07:56, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Since the dispute about the quotations is mentioned in the next sentence, I'm not sure that the {{check}} tags are necessary. However, if there is a different quote of the same speech, or the matter is highly disputed (again, I haven't reviewed this in any great detail), then the quotation may not belong at all. I'm guessing this is not the case, but again, I haven't really looked into it. Cheers. — George Saliba [talk] 08:12, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanx for the help friend, You don't have to worry about "problems with this guy", I'm fair with my contributions, but Lebanese=short temper, which I can control, the reasons why I don't respond to you when you speak Farsi is because I don't speak the language. Thank you for the help once again, I have added you as my addopter, and I hope I learn many things from you.

look guys I don't have a problem with you guys editing my stuff, but that guy changed it completely and ex. said that the Hezbollah quote is after the converance in Tehran, Which is completely not the case here, and has no relation between the 2 conferances.Ahmad Husseini 20:50, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Daryush homayoun

By adding the [citation needed]'s, I just thought we can make it a stronger and more referenced "article", I didn't mean that I don't necessarily need the proof for myself --Rayis 14:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

That could be my mis understanding of Arbayeen, that article suggests it's a shia festival 40 days after a specific holy event. Now being Iranian I am not completely unaware that unofficially 40 days after anyone's death is acknowledged but I never thought it's that notable and certainly not notable on such scale, if it was sourced that it was hailed so highly then I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it had the [citation needed] tag for a month and nothing was provided. So those are the reasons why I removed it. --Rayis 14:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Hezbollah Foreign Relations

Thank you for your note. Your comment sounds very reasonable and I agree on that. Nevertheless, I think that the sentence "But United States intelligence officials speculate there has been contact between Hezbollah and low-level al-Qaeda figures who fled Afghanistan for Lebanon" in the main entry about Hezbollah should be expanded with "although this hypothesis has been questioned (footnote with reference to Hersh)". Is this a valid solution? Thank you again and keep up your amazing work. FrancescoMazzucotelli 00:28, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind if I defer from translating text about issues I don't know enough about, such as Mostafa Chamran, Abbas Doran, Mehdi Bakeri Hamid Bakeri (I assume you didn't want me to change the poem itself which looks like it was taken verbatim from a published source)

PPS What is the template that some want to delete?

Al Manar

Salam... yea its good and all but somethings I would change, read my post on the discussion page.Ahmad Husseini 22:08, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Sav, can just make some edits on my own, or do I have to discuss it first? Ahmad Husseini 02:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Yo Sav, how do you like my major reconstruction to the IRSO (Hezb charity fund) page? Ahmad Husseini 17:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, first thanks for all the work on the al-manar article, second i'm sorry i could not do my share of the work as i lost my internet connection at home for the last two weeks. I'm going to review what you have said and then try and get the article up to GA status per your thoughts, thanks again. Hypnosadist 01:27, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Wa 3alaikom al Salam, wa rahmat to'Llah wa barakatoh,
What do you mean Archive? What do you want me to do?Ahmad Husseini 15:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey thats kinda of a big step, so you want me to read that article? and find out how to do it? Ahmad Husseini 20:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Salamat, What are you talking about? I read the instructions but you want me to do what? there already is an index. Ahmad Husseini 00:33, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Hezbollah: Yes I agree, but I still think we should keep the info, and I'm having trouble understanding the task you want me to do with the archives, I would like it, if you can further explain or if you can walk me through my first time doing this task, to me it looks like we have a chronological archive index on the Talk:Hezbollah page. Ahmad Husseini 19:03, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

And you want that done to the Talk page of Hezbollah?Ahmad Husseini 19:10, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

template of Ruhollah Khomeini

Salam. What's your idea about this template? Do you agree on the deletion.

I confess I do not know enough about the template, or wiki templates in general, being a newby. What are the pros and cons? --Leroy65X 16:27, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, template deletion OK with me. (Although I am writing a long section on his Political thought and legacy long enough to be another article. --Leroy65X 16:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Your Persian comment

Azizam, be to goftam ke be farsi harchi khasti benefisi, be hamoon englisi benevis, say kon in akharin dafat bashe, khob? afarin. --Rayis 16:36, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

What GA and FAs? we have like 3 FAs last time I checked and not many GAs. Anyway please stop removing that quote, first of all, the whole section is dependant on it and it is not exactly controversial. Iranian women say they are classed as second hand citizens while they are at risk of going to prison, what do you expect a feminist human rights advocate to describe their situation like? It is all fine in the context, and I don't appreciate your constant reverts. I didn't remove your contributions which made it less POV, you should appreciate mine --Rayis 16:45, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

"..At the beginning I tried to do so but somebody removed other POV and pushed his own POV."

Oh yeh and regarding such comments, Doroogh din nemikhad ke? I never removed your POV, It was you who reverted my contributions automatically because it didn't match your POV, again [7] and again [8]. Be ensaf. --Rayis 18:27, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah I removed what I felt was irrelevant and kept the rest and added more, but you completely reverted everything I put there, so if anyone was removing anyone else's contributions without any care it was you --Rayis 18:47, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Iran's 'gender apartheid'

Hi. I've restored the section using real sources and notable opinions like Akbar Ganji's. Now I suggest that instead of removing the section again you find opposing opinions to balance these severe allegations. I imagine that you'd have a better job locating these than I as they are probably in Iranian newspapers or similar sources. Thanks. The Behnam 17:22, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes it was just a start. I really ought to do other things right now so I shouldn't spend too much time here. However I will be able to do more work on things in general in a few days. Thanks for your help. The Behnam 17:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
I wrote a version for the section too. --Leroy65X 19:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Hezbollah Archiver

MAN!!! I NEED HELP. I DON'T UNDERSTAND What to Do, please review what I did, and tell me if I did anything productive. Ahmad Husseini 19:47, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Sav I need help. please check out my talk page and look at the bottom 3rr rule. Ahmad Husseini 23:47, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Sav, when you get this please analyse the threats from JayJG. Ahmad Husseini 00:33, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Khomeini Political thought and legacy

No I have not read those links. My ideas was to take theological issues I found in english language books and sort of compile them in a section or even an article. I know khomeini was known for his poetry and mystical ideas and these were somewhat controversial. On the details of this issue I am ignorant. But of course Khomeini is famous ourside of Iran not for mysticiasm but for his political ideas. Perhaps I'm out of my depth. --Leroy65X 20:02, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Khomeini was also very involved in less philosophical, more temporal issues. I wanted to make a distinction between velayat-e faqih and issues like Divorce, votes for women and the legality of music, shich I figured were more worldly. Of course to some extent everything is religious. --Leroy65X 20:15, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Do you want to go ahead and create a separate article called Khomeini political thought and legacy? We could take the sandbox text and you can write about the issues you feel I don't know enough about and haven't written enough about. We could have sections like Thought on mysticism Thought on governance Thought on other political issues.

If you're worried the article is still a little rough or incomplete we could hold off and not put a link to it on the Khomeini article. Tell me what you think. --Leroy65X 14:51, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

What do you mean "wrathful work" ? --Leroy65X 16:19, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

List of Shi'a scholars, clerics, Marjas, etc

Hi. If you mean a new category, then yes, that would work out well. There is already an article List of Shi'a Muslim scholars of Islam which tries to do that.--Gerash77 17:31, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Salam, and thanks for the message. I prefer to have the Shi'a and Sunni scholars separated, but i have nothing against merging all Shi'a into one and and all Sunni into the another. At the same time, we do need to duplicate their name in categories that reflect what they were scholars in, and that is the justification for the many categories. take a closer look and see if you really feel them to be redundant. Also, do remember that most scholars are not included in their appropriate categories, and it might be easier to see the justification for the categories ones they are populated. What's your idea? --Striver - talk 23:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

kidnapped vs. capturing

What happens on a different article has nothing to do with the Hezbollah article. See my comments there. Jayjg (talk) 21:02, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Ya sav, aamail ma3roof , rooh 3alla'l'safha, and put your comments there, the "source" comes from the Israeli ministry of FR, and tht is a partisan source aand that is OBVIOUS. We shouldn't be second guessing this thing. Ahmad Husseini 22:31, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Except, as I pointed out to you, the source was the BBC. I've added more several more sources, like Associated Press, The Globe and Mail, etc. Jayjg (talk) 22:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Sorry Sav, i didn't know there was a rule forbidding 3 reverts, I apologize, I tried to take it to the discussion page, but it was always reverted by the other group. I just wanted to keep it in the original form. Ahmad Husseini 03:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Ya Sav, Leish raja3ta illa Jayjg? Why the revert? Ahmad Husseini 03:40, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Sav, You know those User tags, that people put on their page? How can someone make those? Ahmad Husseini 02:47, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Haha, didn't know that, thanks, I'll take out the "abducted" one. Ahmad Husseini 02:54, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but right now, it looks like the edit war will go right back into full swing if the article is unprotected. Hopefully some consensus can be reached quickly so that protection need not last long. Of course, if you still disagree, you may request unprotection at WP:RFPP. Seraphimblade Talk to me 09:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Semi-protection would be inappropriate here, as some anonymous editors have been involved in the dispute and edit war. Were the article to be semi-protected, that would effectively favor the registered editors. That would be unacceptable. As I stated, hopefully you can reach consensus quickly, but I don't see a whole lot of activity on the talk page since I saw it last. I'll make sure to check back. Your GA nomination of Hezbollah

The article Hezbollah you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold. It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Hezbollah for things needed to be addressed. LordHarris 18:49, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Salamun alaykom. We have a discussion regarding the correct translation and the actual meaning of something written by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. My Barnstar

I am honoured and I thank you for your hard work. In recognition of the collaboration that must have gone into Islam, and realising I have had no contact with the WP:ISLAM crowd since October, but having since a marked improvement in their presentation and in some articles, I pledge to approach such matters with an open and neutral attitude from now on. I no longer consider my past experiences with the Muslim Guild, associated editors, or Islamic articles to be relevant at all to the situation today. I hope the community spirit that produced the Islam FA may produce many, many more Islamic FAs. Certainly in today's world neutral, factual, easily accessible information is needed about Islam than ever before. I hope WP:ISLAM will continue to provide it. DevAlt 15:15, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

GAC backlog elimination drive

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:43, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

American politicians instigating Iranians to resist against America

Salam, Sa, Your message is being heard in America ... whether it's being heard by people in power is another question unfortunately.

This is from a political magazine in Washington DC USA:

(from: "Keep Away." (cover story) by Secor, Laura1 The New Republic; 4/23/2007,
The case for doing nothing
It was twilight for the reform era, with President Mohammed Khatami in his ineffectual final year and a hard-line resurgence taking shape on the horizon, when I visited the Tehran office of a civil society activist named Amir. A slender, clean-shaven man in his early thirties, Amir was a networker of sorts; he spoke perfect English and sent out flurries of petitions when Iranian journalists or activists were imprisoned. He also sat on the boards of five reformist nongovernmental organizations.
Amir seemed nervous the day I met him. Although he hadn't been harassed himself, several of his friends had been called into the intelligence ministry and questioned about his activities. Lately, an endless stream of new cases seemed to flow across his desk--women's rights activists, bloggers, young people spirited away to unknown prisons. The charges were always the same: treason, in the form of participation in a U.S. plot to overthrow the Iranian government.
The reform era, Amir explained to me, may not have accomplished all Iranians had hoped it would in terms of structural political change. But it had opened a space that had not existed before. Khatami had made it possible for some 37,000 nongovernmental organizations to take root, addressing a panoply of social issues and human rights concerns at a granular level. In time, Amir insisted, even when the political space for reform had closed, this civil society could quietly grow, becoming a powerful force for change.
But there was a problem. The government had become convinced that the United States planned to finance and train these activists to overthrow the Islamic Republic, much as it had done in Serbia and elsewhere. In leaked intelligence reports Amir had seen, the regime had meticulously documented its case: "They quote the American Enterprise Institute and Michael Ledeen, as well as the statements of President Bush about civil society," he told me. On the basis of such evidence, the regime was pursuing an aggressive campaign against nongovernmental organizations as well as individual activists and journalists it named as part of a "spider's web" woven by the CIA.
Amir implored me to bring the message back to the U.S. government and think tanks to please stop expressing solidarity with Iranian dissidents. He said that, to his knowledge, all offers of U.S. funding, however tempting, had been refused as too dangerous and compromising. "If the link is not there, why do this?" he demanded. "We have no relations with the United States. We are not receiving money." .... --Leroy65X 15:20, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I closed the discussion as on WP:PUI and regarding Image talk:Chemical weapon2.jpg and Image talk:Chemical weapon1.jpg. I think the licensing and information is enough as it is. Nevertheless, I read that you wrote the site another e-mail. If you have a response, please add it the image's page. Garion96 (talk) 11:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

The overwhelming majority of Shi'as believe Fatima was the only daughter. You thinking or knowing otherwise is of no importance. Part of the edits I reverted was your bad english. Also, allow me to say that Iranians are not exactly the right reference on Shi'a-related issues. My edits are well sourced, yours are poorly sourced. Maybe you should do constructive editing instead of imposing a minority opinion. KlakSonnTalk 17:29, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Shia-Sunni relations

Hi Sa.Vakilian,

I am not sure if my school work would allow me to spend much time there. Hopefully we will fix it soon. --Aminz 06:58, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Re:

Actually, all major Shi'a sites are based in Iraq, not Iran. Or, at least the respectable ones. All my edits are sourced, and are the opinion of the majority of Shi'as regardless of what you have learned. Umar crushed Fatima. Fatima, according to Shi'as, was the only daughter. No need to further argue. KlakSonnTalk 11:05, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
