Question about split from[edit]

@Number 57: The hebrew version of the article includes kulanu and derech eretz so why cant we include it here? Idan (talk) 10:33, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

it should be mentioned in the prose. It doesn't really work in the infobox because the party is primarily a split from Likud that Kulanu and DE have subsequently merged into. The infobox is designed to show a party as either a 'split from' or a 'merger of'; having both doesn't work. Number 57 11:11, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Number 57, so could I change it to 'merger of' to include Kulanu and Derech Eretz? FYI the kulanu article is outdated. Idan (talk) 17:19, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so – the party is primarily a split from Likud. It's even debateable whether Kulanu and DE have merged into the new party, or whether their MKs have simply abandoned them to join it. Number 57 17:22, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Number 57, pretty sure kulanu and de will cease to exist. But knowing Hansel & Gretel I dont really know. I was just going off what I saw on the hebrew wiki yesterday. If its not going to be added in the infobox I think some more background should be added. Idan (talk) 17:50, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The text should definitely be expanded. I just don't think the circumstances of this party's establishment really fit the available parameters in the infobox. Number 57 18:09, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Isn't it simpler and more accurate to have the info box say "Merger of" New Hope, Kulanu and Derech Eretz?

I find the info box saying Split from to be inaccurate. While New Hope did split from the Likud, Derech Eretz and Kulanu did not, they merged. Eatabullet (talk) 05:43, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Right-wing"[edit]

Hours before the midnight deadline expired, Mr Netanyahu, leader of the right-wing Likud party, and his political rival Benny Gantz of the centrist Blue and White, blamed each other for the crisis. [...] Mr Netanyahu is also facing a new political challenge from a former Likud MP, Gideon Saar, who has formed his own right-wing party which stands to peel votes away from Mr Netanyahu's political base.

There have been multiple attempts to remove "right-wing" from the "Political position" infobox parameter, so I have invited all editors to this page who have added or removed the disputed text. To me, it seems to be sourced content without a reason for removal. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:51, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like the IP editor has an axe to grind, for whatever reason. I don't see a valid reason for removal. David O. Johnson (talk) 01:35, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should keep it there. Saar has a ideology that identifies more right-wing than Likud itself. In fact, over the years, Saar became very close to ideological right-wing circles in the settlements. His party is considered to be pro-settler. To me it sounds like right-wing would be appropriate. Looking at what he calls his party, his party members and policies, the party has shifted to the center-right. Sa'ar called his party multiple times as center right, saying that half his members are centrists and half rightwing. He supports policies such as legalization of drugs, adoption rights for LGBT, mixed economy, government reform and more public transportation on saturdays. New Hope is widely considered a center right party in Israel, and looking at the last election, this is how they campaigned. [2] --Arjona123 (talk) 12:32, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What Sa'ar calls the party is totally irrelevant. Do you think the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic? Number 57 18:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But also his policies are center right, he got endorsed by the drug legalization party Aleh Yarok, he supports LGBT rights, mixed economy, government reform and more public transportation on saturdays. Looking at his own party members, members like Yifat Shasha Biton is a centrist, Yoaz Hendel, Tzvi Hauzer and Hila Shai Vezan were from BW... Just because one network called him rightwing before he even said what his policies are is quite absurd and wrong, especially when talking about Israel. Sources like Al-Jazeera and other anti-Israeli news would call Netanyahu far-right, doesn't mean he is one....~New Hope is a center-right party. --Arjona123 (talk) 16:24, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
All the people you've mentioned are arguably centre-right rather then centrists, so I don't see how this makes the party not right to centre-right. Also, Anyway, what really matters is what sources say, and numerous sources describe the party as right-wing. Number 57 17:17, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just replying here to note that an IP editor is still doing this; the edits aren't incredibly disruptive, but still quite annoying. Lkb335 (talk) 02:31, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Editing the Election Results Chart[edit]

I would like to change the status of the 2022 election. Specifically, I would like it to look like this: "Opposition (2022-Oct 2023), Coalition (Oct 2023-Mar 2024), Opposition (Mar 2024-)". I am posting this hear because I do not know how to do this myself. I tried doing this using the visual editor, but all I did was make a mess (I did not save any changes, don't worry), and I do not know any code. If anyone knows how to do this, I think it would be to the benefit of the readers if this was done. Here's an example of what I would like done, looking at Yisrael Beiteinu's result in the 2015 election specifically. Sutapurachina (talk) 11:25, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I figured it out, woohoo! Sutapurachina (talk) 01:44, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
