Studio Ghibli article[edit]

I just started to do some work at the Studio Ghibli article by expanding the lead section and am contemplating about expanding the article, especially in the history section. Once this is done, I am thinking about splitting off the feature film list, using List of Pixar films as a model. If someone out there can lend me a hand in expanding the article, that would be great. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 18:57, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Odd issue with Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind[edit]

So i've been looking for Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Japanese releases and the main site doesn't show release dates for the tankobon format except 4, 5, 6 and 7. So i thought i'd look for another site that could help like Jbook and the release dates are in reverse and the same for 7net shopping, which confuses me even more. I don't really know any other site, but it seems like a big issue, do i add them regardless if it seems like a flaw?Lucia Black (talk) 21:06, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I found Amazon that shows a completely different set of dates, that seems much more consistent but i'm skeptical of using Amazon for a source. What do you think i should do?Lucia Black (talk) 21:14, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, not consistent. This is very stressfull.Lucia Black (talk) 02:05, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Lucia Black, came here to look for info on something else and ran into your comment, so, to reply here as well and give an update for readers of this Ghibli Project page who may not read the Nausicaä article's talk page. This will be familiar to you but I've posted it here as a brief a recap. Tokuma Shoten also doesn't list all the earliest editions but there is a list of the publication history in the book Watercolor collections. Unfortunately the list, on page 206, in the English translation of Watercolors contains a typo. The information about dates in the list in the Japanese original of Watercolor Impressions corresponds with the cover dates on the Japanese Volumes themselves. From the first release of the first edition of Volume 1 in 1982 and the re-release the next year - in addition to all later Volumes. The only typo in the book regarding publication dates is for Volumes 1's re-release) and Volume 2 which erroneously listed as August 24 instead of August 25. This is the corrected list, based on the Japanese originals:

Manga Collected Edition release history

  • 1 First published September 25, 1982 as Animage Special, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
  • 1 First published August 25, 1983 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 1
  • 2 First published August 25, 1983 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 2
  • 3 First published December 15, 1984 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 3
  • 4 First published May 1, 1987 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 4
  • 5 First published June 30, 1991 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 5
  • 6 First published December 20, 1993 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 6
  • 7 First published January 15, 1995 as Animage Comics Wide Ban, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 7

GA pushes[edit]

I've been working on Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki related titles, particularly On Your Mark and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (film). I am preparing to work and nominate other articles for GA, I've been using a few book sources to get the information, but I was wondering if someone else could direct my progress or get some of the non-English sources (any really) for the articles. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 20:17, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Spirited Away has passed GA. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 05:11, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please help a newbie![edit]

Hi all - I am an avid Studio Ghibli fan and would like to add myself to this task force, but I was wondering if as a newbie this is advised/allowed, since I have relatively little Wikipedia experience and don't yet know my way around the site... Thoughts? Also, can anyone explain to me what FA/GA/B/C class means? Thanks, and sorry if I'm posting in the wrong page! Stara729 (talk) 02:36, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. New messages should go at the bottom. You can add your name in the participants section, but please make sure that you list yourself in alphabetical order. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:27, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Grave of the Fireflies plot summary discussion[edit]

Hello. There is an ongoing discussion regarding the plot section of Grave of the Fireflies. The discussion can be found at Talk:Grave of the Fireflies#Plot summary format. Input from project members would be appreciated. Thanks. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:46, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I have no idea if anyone watches this talk page anymore, but I'm the nominator of this candidate, and it could use some attention from editors more familiar with the topic areas of anime and film, at the suggestion of a couple of the reviewers. I have addressed certain concerns about the comprehensiveness of the article (criterion 1b of the FACR), but some doubts remain about whether it covers all aspects of the subject and includes all notable sources. This is also the first Studio Ghibli–related article to be brought to FAC, so I would appreciate any comments you have! For anyone interested in conducting a source review, I have copies of almost all the offline sources and can email them to you on request. Thanks!
