Walking the Canning Stock Route

Hi, I recently walked the entire length of the Canning Stock Route in the oppisite direction to Gaynor Schoeman. We in fact passed each other stopping for a cuppa and a chat. I did have a support vehicle but still completed the entire distance on foot, doing it in 49days from the 5th May to the 9th July. I would like to have that information acknowledged on the pages referring to people who have traversed the length by foot of bike etc. I'm currently painting a body of work inspired by the walk for a solo exhibition next year in Melbourne. How can I go about putting details of my walk on the relevent page?? Please help... According to The West Australian it took you 64 days rather than 49. Information here has be verifiable so I have stated this rather than 49 days. Neither of those articles mentions your upcoming exhibition so that can't be included yet. SmartSE (talk) 00:27, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

The OP said it took from 5 May to 9 July, which is about 64 days anyway. Not sure why they said 49. 30 days in June, plus 9 for July plus the remainder of May is definately over 60. RudolfRed (talk) 01:40, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

How many references?

I think Halla02 is referring to this edit and the fact that Zartan has a younger brother and sister, twins named Zandar and Zarana. The question is whether one non-independent source or two non-independent sources are needed to source the profile fact. To provide an example, something like saying that Rob Ford smoked crack would need a few really solid sources. On the other hand (excuse the pun), saying that Barack Obama is left handed would only need one source. Dismas|^(talk) 04:33, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

How can I archive or delete sections of my talk page?

I am having trouble getting rid of the past sections of my talk page. The ones that are months old. If there is anyone who can help me on this, it would be greatly appreciated. :) Keeby101 (talk) 04:35, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

I added MiszaBot/config to your talk page. It's set to archive threads that are older than 30 days (|algo = old(30d)), but you can change the "30" to whatever number you want. It should send the first batch to User talk:Keeby101/Archive 1, which is linked on the top of you talk page. -- Jreferee (talk) 04:44, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

I presume that you mean this: [1]. Please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia. It covers encyclopaedic subjects that conform to our notability guidelines, as demonstrated by significant coverage in third-party published reliable sources. (edit conflict)There are several issues here. You created this on your user page ( User:Courbebaisse), which is not the proper place for an article draft. I suggest that you read Your First Article and strongly consider using the Articles for Creation process. Besides that, your draft looks very much as though it had been copied form elsewhere. If it has, it is quite possibly a copyright violation, and Wikipedia will be unable to accept it in that form. DES ^(talk) 13:43, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Request help in opening sandbox due to cite error message.

I wanted to place a reference on my sandbox page to copy and paste in another location, but when I placed the reference on my sandbox page, it gave me an cite error message, and now, I can't even get have access to my sandbox in order to get the reference. Your sandbox is here at User:Daniellagreen/sandbox. You edit it like you edit any other page. The cite error is because you have a reference but no reference list. You need to add {{reflist}} at the bottom. --Mysdaao ^talk 15:23, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Wikimarkup handles footnoting with two parts. the <ref> </ref> tags in which the footnote content is placed, and the {{reflist}} template which displays the content in the ref tags on the page.

Great, thank you both for your help, I appreciate it. There was no browser problem, just that after adding the reference, the cite error came up, and I was unable to do anything in my sandbox. How do I edit a page about me?

User:Paris1127 sent me a message saying I could not edit a page about me. This is ridiculous and there seems no way to respond to Paris1127???? here is what I want the article to say: Tell me what's wrong with the TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't start this page, it just appeared, but it is about ME!

Bill Crews (born 12 July 1952[1]), a gay American local politician, served as the mayor of Melbourne, Iowa (population 700), from 1984 through 1998. Crews came out at the LGBT Equality March on Washington, D. C. in 1993, where he attracted national attention as a result of hate graffiti on his Melbourne house.[2] Political career

Crews was an attorney (University of Iowa College of Law JD 1977) working as a representative of the Iowa Governor when after moving to the city, he was approached to serve as mayor - filling a vacancy. At the election held the following year to fill out the term, Crews won all 57 votes cast. He was re-elected in the 1987, 1991, and 1995 elections.[1] During Crews' service as mayor of Melbourne, the city built a new fire station and library, improved water and sewer infrastructure and increased cash reserves.[citation needed] Formerly a moderate Republican, he claimed "I was a Republican from before the fundamentalists took over the Iowa party. I believe in progressive, fiscally responsible government. I am now a registered Democrat. I'm pro-choice; I've always been."[citation needed] Crews ran for the Iowa Senate in 1992 but lost by just 57 votes.[citation needed] After moving to the District of Columbia, Crews served two terms as an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (SMD 6C07) in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill. What happened to my edit on the 2011 article?

I just realized that one of my edits on the 2011 article, has been deleted.

In addition, I cited the URL, plus the archive URL, including all of the info. Is this plagiarism? I cited the URL, and someone on here deletes it? I haven't been sent a notification about that edit.

I understand that the edit I made would be free to use under a Creative-Commons license, and I would like to know, how come my edit was deleted.

The article you edited was about the major events that happened in 2011 - heads of state being elected, disasters that killed thousands of people, wars. Your edit was revered with the notation "nn"] which i am assuming means "not notable". You can go to the Talk:2011 and make the case that the release of a Pokemon expansion ranks up there in importance with the other entries on the list, but I am pretty sure you are not going to convince anybody. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:12, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

(edit conflict)If you are referring to this edit it was undone in this subsequent edit. No reason was provided, you would need to ask User:DerbyCountyinNZ for his or her reasons. It might be that DerbyCountyinNZ did not consider the event significant enough. See Wikipedia:Recent years, where it says:

"Since so many events happen in a year, not all events will be notable enough to merit inclusion on the page. Such events may be better placed on a subpage. That an event is important to an individual editor, or even to a particular society or nation, is insufficient ground for its inclusion. The event must have a demonstrated, international significance"

It would be more suitable for 2011 in video gaming, but it's already there. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:13, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

cite this page

according to the instructions in the "ToolBox" (which doesn't exist)there is a "Cite this Page" (which also doesn't exist)on the left of any wiki page. So, if it isn't in "tools" then were is it? There should be a section called "Tools" tools in the grey bar on the left side of the page. You may need to click there to display the links. From there, you should be able to click "Cite this page," the last item in the list. (Keep in mind that it only appears on articles.) If you can't see that, you can always go to Special:Cite and type in the article's name there. ~HueSatLum 22:56, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
