Proposed deletion of Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science

The article Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No independent reliable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Apologies

Hello, apologies for editing User:AmirMuhammad1/main/do not edit this despite its very clear name. Please note, your page display may soon break as you have malformed HTML codes (specifically <big/> which should be </big>). You may want to address this. — xaosflux Talk 18:21, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

I got glasses and i need words much more bigger :)) but u don needa apologize cuz its kind to edit my page's errors. "do not edit this" is for beginners, not kinda user like u . tnx so much for mentioning me . that was nice of u . i hope we be good friends in wiki by now .bye Amir Muhammad 18:29, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Use all the <big>'s you like on your page. You can even use more than one like this:
  • <big>BIG</big> makes: BIG
  • <big><big>BIG</big></big> makes: BIG
  • <big><big><big>BIG</big></big></big> makes: BIG
  • <big><big><big><big>BIG</big></big></big></big> makes: BIG
In some cases telling the page you are done being big (e.g. <big/>) might happen to work right now, but will break in an upcoming update - the / should be at the beginning of the tag, not the end. Happy editing, — xaosflux Talk 18:59, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
@Xaosflux: thanx so much buddy, that was so helpful. can you tell me how i can fix the audio samples in this article . cuz it seems to be uncomfortable . i wanna be like this but i cant understand .why thats not. Amir Muhammad 20:05, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't deal with media files much - it appears most of your layout issues are due to your file not really being a strict audio file, but a "audio/video file" - you may need to remaster it and upload a reformatted version. — xaosflux Talk 23:50, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
tnx anyway Amir Muhammad 00:06, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Post-nominal letters

Hi. Regarding your usage of post-nominal letters in this and this article, I would like to point to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, stating "When an individual... seldom uses their post-nominal letters... [they] should be omitted from the lead, and their titles described in the main body of the article." It is not common in Iran to address people with post-nominal letters, especially in made-up abbrevation letters like "FMH". Stop adding this kind of stuff to Iranian biographical pages. Pahlevun (talk) 12:09, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

@Pahlevun: stop it . i didnt threat u . u can use google translate . u said u cant understand English in your user page with a user box . i thought ur serious then i wrote my comment in Persian. just because this . health n wealth Amir Muhammad 13:54, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
Answer my question right away: Why should we include "OCI"/"FMO" after Ali Daei/Qasem Soleimani's name in the lead?, when it is not common to address people with post-nominal letters in Iran, and there is no such letters as "OCI"/"FMO"? I think these letters are Personal inventions and should not be written in the lead. Pahlevun (talk) 14:02, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
@Pahlevun: hello again, my dear buddy ; no need to be common in Iran . its just not illegal. for example in Steven Spielberg article . he is not a British and he is an American and its not common in us to write post-nominal . please dont delete it without a discussion . i have to go. ill see ya later and we will talk more. be healthy and wealthyAmir Muhammad 14:08, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

Personal attacks warning

Hi, I'm writing to warn you to stop your personal attacks on me. Tagging users with words like "Anti-Iranian", "racist", "member of IRGC", "part of Iranian government", having "some extreme behavior" or "extremer guy" is not acceptable in Wikipedia and if you continue to do so, you may face punishments, because I will not tolerate these kind of comments anymore. Pahlevun (talk) 14:56, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

@Pahlevun: its an "Affectation" for escape from your insulting action and my complaint. i didn't say you are a racist or member of IRGC . and i just say you are editing "like" anti-Iranian and it "seems" to be racial in my "thought". please use google translate "all of my words" not bringing me a part of my "word" . and please stop it and dont mention and involving me . i mean leave me easy please. if you have any kinda complaint you are free to say . but you bringing me 2 days ago talks here now for what? bye
yes i said "i think" you are an extremer based on here . as you said "I think the only undisputable solution is linking official symbols adopted by Iranian governments"!!!! only a part of Iranian government can speak like that not a wiki neutral editor, you are veteran editor and you mutt know that you must edit based on WP:Neutral. and i had a reason for my words and i brought it . stop involving with me please as you start again . I see that you're interested in Persia related articles. So, I suggest you to see if we can design a Persian Gulf barnstar so that we can give that to those editors who edit Iran-related articles. Please note that the barnstars should be discussed before being added to the list.--Mhhossein (talk) 12:06, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Iranian Gulf music cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Iranian Gulf music cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Maryam Mirzakhani s Pic on a Iranian Newspaper.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from URL. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —David Eppstein (talk) 00:30, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

AmirMuhammad1,
While I think that your edits were made in complete good faith, we just can't add it like that to the article. Its packed with dreadful English, many grammar/spelling errors, as well as very undue stuff regarding titles people have given her in Iran (as well as the translation of those titles in Perso-Arabic script!), and what-not. Therefore, I've reverted your last spree of edits on the page. I hope you can understand why I did so. If you wanna last here for a longer period, you should really contact the Teahouse. They can help you to find a mentor. A mentor could guide you in this place, tell you what the best would be to do/not to do, and by that could help you here. Cause really - you won't survive here like this. Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 03:01, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

hi dear LouisAragon please do not say Perso-arabic and dont refer it to the Persian. if its POV please keep it for your self . its several times im seeing you are using Perso-Arbic instead of Persan . im Persian and im not speaking Perso-Arabic . for example restaurant is french word but an English can use it but it doesnt mean that he/she a french . im not arab at all and dont want .an im good. if its possible for you please fix my grammatical mistakes on Maryam Mirzakhani as you did for me before . cuz im gong to sleep and i dont have enough time . thanks any way.Amir Muhammad 03:08, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Eh. *Not sure if serious*. I'm obviously referring to the script. I even literally mentioned that in my edit summary. The script used to write Persian in Iran is simply the Perso-Arabic script. That's the way its very often referred to as by many academics and scholars. A deriviation of the Arabic script (which it is). No POV or pro-anything involved — its just the way it is.
Regarding your question; no man. It doesn't work like that. I (and others) can't constantly fix your masses of errors simply because you don't want or can't do it yourself. To present a good enough/sufficient proficiency in English, and to have a proper editorial pattern on this place, is somthing that is your own responsibility. It ain't gonna get fixed by itself, or by the means of me (or others) fixing your errors in every large edit or so. To put things short; really, do yourself a favor and contact the Teahouse through the link above, if you don't want to get yourself blocked. They can help you out if you properly adress your editorial issues. Bests and a good night - LouisAragon (talk) 03:17, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

@Bbb23: hi dear admin. i stooped it more than 13 hours(i finished editing on his talk page at 4.02 UTC and its about 17:00, please calculate that what time i stopped and what time you are warning me? ) . but you left a warring message, just now!!?. i am a good citizen here. you must refer that LouisArgon call Perso-Arabic instead of Persian for Persian script and i just said to him im not Arab and please dont call me another . for example Turkey has a Latin script but we dont call Turko-Latin for its script, we call? or for Pakistan we dont say Pako-Arabic or for Kurdish we dont call it "Kurdo-Latin" for its script .. You must warn LouisAragon either to stop calling Persians "Perso-Arabic" or other racial subjects etc.... thanks anyway Amir Muhammad 17:05, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
@Bbb23: please edit your word "Yet" . cuz other users may think i didn't stop it ..your warning is not an accurate cuz its after more than 13 hours and your saying Yet .. please treat me like another users equal, otherwise i can want other admins to judge your non-fair action. health and wealth. Amir Muhammad 17:12, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) Hi TheStrayDog, before you go on another rant, please do note that 1) Perso-Arabic script is a perfectly fine and accepted term for the Persian alphabet. After all, the Persian script is based upon Arabic. 2) Arabic in this case refers to the Arabic script, not the Arabic as a language, Arab culture, or Saudi Arabia. Considering your reaction, I think that says a lot about how you think of Arabic. 3) You did not assume good faith towards LouisAragon (talk · contribs), when it was clear that they did not make a mistake, let alone one one purpose to insult you. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort. You will need to get along with others, also with people that do not share your thoughts and opinions. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:07, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you so much, but im Persian and i must say im not agree with you about the script. im sorry for it. i think your defending that admin's non-fair warnynig cuz he warned me after 13 hours . i dont have any rant, be polite please .. im speaking about the word "Yet" that was not true and i dont tell about LoiusAragon yet. admins are not right every-time and they are human and can do mistakes and must accept it. look at this admin that accepted his fault against me. if there is an article for your subject it doesn't mean your opinion is true. im must say the full name is Persian script and Perso-Arabic is redirected and that article is not in the good situation(needs improving) and it has a lot of errors and some Arab guys edited it recently(here it shows it maybe is on Arab POV and its not a nutrial article. and i must say that there is no basic reference to show who was first time the createtor of that script some references like ibn-khaldon informed that it maybe made by a Persian cuz most notable of Islamic scholars were from Iranian/Persian heritage such as Al-biruni , rumi or avicenna etc.. and we must use the first and main name of the article that is Persian script and not redirected name . as you used my new user name and didnt use my former. for a Persian its insulting an you must accept cuz your not Persian . bring me Persian guy to judge my action if you think im not right (in his/her view). i will accept that you are right . Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:45, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:An Iranian pizza delivery man.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Replaceable fair use File:Iranian or Persian pizza close up.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Iranian or Persian pizza close up.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora (talk) 22:14, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Mentoring - Please leave until Jan 1, 2017

Effective Oct 6 and per this discussion, TheStrayDog will be mentored by Tiptoethrutheminefield with assistence from Irondome when Tiptoe isn't around. Irondome is asked to follow Tiptoe's lead, difference to be discussed on mentor's pages, not here. Dennis Brown - (undated for a reason)

Thank you Dennis Brown. TheStrayDog, I hope I can be of real help and that the mentoring will be useful and successful. One thing to start with might be for you to fix the link to your talk page archive. Cluebot seems to be sending it to a different directory than the archive link at the top of this page. • Correction. Irondome won't be assisting, but everything else stands. The link I provided works, it is my edit closing the discussion. The discussion can be found on the same page. Maybe you are on a mobile device? Adding one for mobile is fine. Dennis Brown - 16:56, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks dear @Tiptoethrutheminefield: and dear @Irondome:. It will be kind of you both. The Stray Dog Talk Page 16:59, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello TheStrayDog, in connection with the mentoring, I an going to look back into your editing history to see what past problems have arisen. I will also be following your ongoing editing - I hope that won't seem too intrusive. Because the recent incident that brought you to the Administrators' notice board was user talk-page related, I think you should not post anything on other editors' user pages for a while. This includes welcome messages for new editors. Think of an editor's own user page as his/her personal property - just as in real life you would not enter someone's house uninvited, you should always be very careful about posting on user pages. Only do it if it is absolutely necessary for article content issues. As someone said at your case, Wikipedia is not a social networking site. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 15:26, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Looking back at your edit history I see a case where an editor was complaining of personal atttacks made by you. I think the complaint was justified and your reply did not help your case. Saying an editor is "like something" is usually taken to mean the same as saying that they "are" that something. So your talk page explanation "i just say you are editing "like" anti-Iranian and it "seems" to be racial" did not help. In fact, it made things worse because your wording suggests that you knew it was wrong on Wikipedia to say this outright, so instead you chose to use wording that would just imply it. Never bring up an editor's ethnicity or nationality, even if they are open about it. Also try to avoid mentioning or making assumptions about their personal political views. And if you make a mistake in wording and say something inappropriate it is always better to just apologise rather than attempt to wriggle out of doing it. You can also withdraw talk page comments you made by striking them out by adding <del>...</del> to the existing comment - it ends up looking like this will indicate you have withdrawn the comment. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 15:31, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
Also becareful in the wording you use. In the edit summary of your most recent edit [5] you said "cleaning the false linking". The primary name of the linked article is actually Iranian Revolution, so it wasn't a "false" link. "Cleansing" suggest content was "dirty" within the article - but all that you did was make a minor change in wording. Be a bit softer in the explanation and don't use wording that might be misinterpreted or make others think an edit is controversial when it really is not. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 16:59, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

The Stray Dog, for mentoring to work you have to do some actual editing! Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 14:21, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello, TheStrayDog. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Cyrus The Great (screenplay), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Besides, as you can see, there's no English pop article, but rather American pop, British pop, etc. They all use the official demonym of the countries.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 20:14, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

@Schwede66: Dear Schwede, thank you. I appreciate it. You trusted me, it's amazing. I promise I will respond it with my "good work" in this society. happy editing! The Stray Dog Talk Page 20:26, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
I owe you an apology, because what I tried to do earlier today was to decline your request. But I stuffed up somehow. I hope this isn't too upsetting. As per the note on top of the autopatrolled page, "applicants are unlikely to be granted this right if they have created fewer than 25 new articles". You've got half that at this point. Schwede66 08:08, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
@Schwede66: Hello again. Dear Schwede, it is actually not upsetting to me, even a little bit. I am a professional and I understand and accept those kind of rules, also I respect them. Thank you so much for your useful helps here. Happy editing and see you again. The Stray Dog Talk Page 16:43, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Welcoming the oldbies

Hi, I happened to notice your recent Welcome message to Hollomis (talk · contribs). That's nice, the only thing is, this user has been contributing for ten years.

I imagine that the way the welcome-thing must work, is that there's probably a Wikimedia software app that alerts a pool of volunteer welcomers like yourself in round-robin fashion when they detect that someone new has registered with the site, and then you go welcome them, is that more or less what happens?

In any case, maybe you could post something on the Talk page of the owner of the Welcome-App, letting them know that they're feeding you "oldbies" instead of newbies, and that they should look into the problem or file a bug if need be. Thanks for being on the welcoming committee, that's a nice thing to do. In fact, maybe I should join up; do you know where to go to do so? Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 18:33, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mansour Hedayati requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 13:36, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

Hello, TheStrayDog. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Mansour Hedayati, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Duplicate warnings

Hello. You've been adding unnecessary duplicate warnings to user talk pages that have already been warned.[6][7][8] Why are you doing this? - TheMagnificentist 10:28, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello @TheMagnificentist:, I appreciate that you are caring about Wikipedia. I must say that was a mistake and I realized that. Using Twinkle has some risks, and those risks happened unfortunately. But I want to ensure you there is no intention on this. Thank you for informing me. Best Wishes. The Stray Dog Talk Page 10:39, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

in Persian: درود. --– Hossein Iran « talk » 07:23, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

in Persian: @Hosseiniran: درود!
