August 2020

Information icon Hello, I noticed that you recently reverted a constructive edit of Pearce Quigley without adequately explaining why, and consequently has been reverted. Also, please do not post inappropriate 'warnings' to others such as [1] Ali Beatriz (talk) 19:23, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

  • My apologies for this, at the time I was only able to see what appeared to be section blanking and chose to revert under the premise that the theater credits themselves had been removed, and not moved into a new section. Again, I do hope you'll accept my sincerest apologies for this error. Tarheel95 (Talk) 19:28, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
    • Apologies accepted. However, it is suggested you take care with both reverts and warnings as you appear to be acting too quickly (and not reviewing others edits or reading their comments) Mistakes happen, and we all make them, but to make the same mistake twice whilst also levelling accusations at others suggests something more than a simple mistake.Ali Beatriz (talk) 19:33, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Needs your help

User:Paradise Chronicle and User:AppleBsTime are planning conspiracy against me over unrelated topic here is the evidence of their planned conspiracy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Paradise_Chronicle#Sheikh_Adi_Ibn_Musafir_was_a_Muslim they are planning to escalate editing dispute with an unrelated ( or maybe a related user with fake account ) over an unrelated article in order to grant me a block or something , I didn't talk to them since the last time in mid September over another dispute which came to end already , and now I discovered that they were harassing me or maybe even using multiple fake accounts to harass me and cause me to be blocked , I believe that you should block them over their hateful behavior against me , I believe that user Paradise chronicle is using lots of fake accounts originated from France to harass me , to get me blocked , please investigate her and block her , she and AppleBsTime are conspiring over an article titled Begin Sadat Center For strategic studies , here is it's revision history https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Begin%E2%80%93Sadat_Center_for_Strategic_Studies&action=history , they suddenly appeared in the middle of a dispute with someone with multiple accounts who is trying to vandalize the article , turning it into promotional instead of encyclopedic then deletes citations of existing information then finally accuses me of vandalism when i revert their vandalism , now I believe that the multiple fake accounts actually belongs to Paradise Chronicle as well and all of them originated from France , she tried to vandalize the sheikh adi before from an IP located in France as well then used it as a tactic to make it appear like if many users are agreeing with her to delete all my academic citations https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sheikh_Adi_ibn_Musafir&diff=978942881&oldid=978932746 the 3 other users attacking me on Begin sadat article are using French font as well , now after seeing the conspiracy on her talk page I believe that she is the one behind all this . I believe that she needs to be blocked over her conspirator behavior against users and how she is ruining the whole experience on wikipedia , the same block should be applied to User AppleBsTime and her fake accounts harassing me on Begin Sadat article User Wbiases , User I69i197496 and User Thhings6sz,and here she is offering help in a conspiracy against me with user wbiases https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Wbiases , their behavior is very mean and hateful , they and their IP ranges deserve to be blocked and banned for life , Thank You AleviQizilbash (talk) 18:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors September 2020 Newsletter

Hello and welcome to the September GOCE newsletter, a brief update of Guild activities since June 2020.

                 Current and upcoming events

September Drive: Our current backlog-elimination drive is open until 23:59 on 30 September (UTC) and is open to all copy editors. Sign up today!

Election reminder: our end-of-year Election of Coordinators opens for nominations on 1 December. Coordinators normally serve a six-month term and are elected on an approval basis. Self-nominations are welcome. If you've thought of helping out at the Guild, or know of another editor who would make a good coordinator, please consider standing for election or nominating them here.

Drive and Blitz reports

June Blitz: An uncorrected typo (even copy editors make copy editing mistakes!) led to an eight-day "leap blitz" from 14 to 21 June, focusing on requests and articles tagged in May. 19 participating editors claimed 54 copy edits. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

July Drive: Over 750,000 words of articles were copy edited for this event, keeping pace with the previous three self-isolated drives. Of the 38 people who signed up, 30 copyedited at least one article. Final results and awards are listed here.

August Blitz: From 16 to 22 August, we copy edited articles tagged in June and July 2020 and requests. 12 participating editors completed 37 copy edits on the blitz. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.
