Draft:Roman Staněk[edit]

See Draft:Roman Staněk; I didn't include the earliest versions that were deleted by G5, as it seems the most recent version was freshly restarted, but it would of course be possible if it's necessary. Cheers, WilyD 14:07, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Valorant[edit]

Hi styyx. Are you interested in valorant esports? Robingunes (talk) 13:41, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Robingunes: Yeah actually a bit. I mainly look at the CS:GO esport scene but half of the Valorant players are ex-CS:GO players and the game itself is similar too. ~Styyx Talk? ^-^ 14:53, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

~Styyx Talk? ^-^ 14:38, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tournament results[edit]

If you don't use the ntsh template, your table won't sort properly. For example, if you have a range of numbers from 1 to 20, on its own the table will sort it as 1, 10, 2, 20, 3, 4, etc. CentreLeftRight 20:55, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Contribution[edit]

Thank′s for you recent contribution to discussion on the proposed deletion of the article Johny Messo. Unfortunately, that discussion was closed today, in favor of the deletion proposal. Such outcome was quite surprising, since that article was significantly improved in recent days, and there was no clear consensus for deletion: two votes were in favor of keep, one was for complete deletion, and one was optional - for deletion or merger. Such structure of votes would imply at least relisting, but not total deletion. In theory, how would you close that discussion, in terms of immediate deleting or relisting? Sorabino (talk) 01:10, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Sorabino: I don't have any experience on closing or relisting AfD's yet, but I think the quality of the arguments leaned on delete, but given that there were 2 keep votes and improvements on the article, I don't think that was enough to form a community consensus so I would've relisted it if I was the person supposed to do it. You can ask for a deletion review if you want to. ~Styyx Talk? ^-^ 07:20, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank′s, I am still hoping that my direct communication with the closer would result in a relisting, that would allow me to make further improvements to the article. Sorabino (talk) 07:26, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Derin Yaya[edit]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mertkan Üçüncüoğlu (talkcontribs)

Bahsettiğiniz TBF ve FIBA kaynakları "Trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources may be used to support content in an article, but it is not sufficient to establish notability. This includes listings in database sources with low, wide-sweeping generic standards of inclusion" kapsamına giriyor. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 08:06, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted[edit]

Hi Styyx. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Do you want me to G5 Medyabar.com as well? Or do you want to leave it for improvement?-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:17, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ponyo That one might be notable, so I did a small copyedit for now. I'm going to take a deeper look into it tomorrow and maybe take it to AfD in case it fails NCORP. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 20:21, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okie dokie.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:21, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ponyo Tagged it for A7. The sources in the article (and a few similar not in the article: [1]) are written by İhlas Haber Ajansı and simply copied by other websites. The text mentions the regional director of İHA being invited, so I don't see how these are independent. General consensus on trwiki is that Haberler.com isn't reliable nor independent, so that source doesn't say much either. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 10:41, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well done on the anaylysis. It's been moved to draft space in lieu of A7 deletion by Ritchie333, so I guess it gets to sit and entice this globally-locked sockmaster to keep editing the draft in perpetuity. Joy.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:03, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The move to draft was simply a revert of this edit. As you can see from this edit, the community is more tolerant of drafts and less likely to delete them per G11. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:18, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover and R2[edit]

Your recent draftifications have been done with redirect suppression because you are a global rollbacker. However, each of those draftifications immediately created a new page at the original mainspace article title with just the {{Db-r2}} tag on it. So, you should make a request at WP:PERM/PM to make yourself a page mover so that the R2-tagging does not happen again. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 19:07, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nominations[edit]

A question: Why are you nominating articles for deletion as redirects when they appear not in fact to be redirects? Hint; a redirect has a target article named at the foot of the text.----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:01, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Bradbury See the message sent to me above. Since I'm a global rollback, I can move articles to draft without leaving a redirect, however the MoveToDraft script automatically adds the template in the original mainspace article because I'm not a page mover here. I have no option to enable/disable anything, so this will probably go on until I get page mover rights (which I have applied for despite failing the criteria). ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 17:04, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I suppose you appreciate that trawling through the CSD page finding these remnants wastes a significant amount of time? Could you not do something else here until your page mover approval is granted? Please note that in a 15 year admin history this is the first time I have come across this difficulty. ----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:14, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Screen Rant rankings[edit]

Hi, Styyx. Apologies for the double message but I just wanted to ask your opinion on something. At the present moment, we have several MLP: FIM episode articles that partially rely on Screen Rant rankings for notability. However, I've noticed that many of these rankings are just blurbs of the episode plots and I wouldn't call them "significant coverage". Since you have created a few of these, I'd like to ask your opinion on this. Do they qualify as significant coverage? If not, I think they should be redirected until notability can be established. Articles affected by this are:

And uncreated ones:

(Note: I have omitted "Pinkie Pride", "The Return of Harmony", "Twilight's Kingdom", "A Canterlot Wedding", etc. as they already establish notability without the rankings.) Pamzeis (talk) 11:18, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pamzeis. Per GNG, the source doesn't have to be only about the subject. I remember from AfD's about people that we tend accept sources with 4 or more sentences, though I don't know it that is also the case for episodes, so Amending Fences and The Best Night Ever are pretty much on the edge, but I think The Perfect Pear is notable even without that. Will try to fix the DYK once I get home. Thanks for the message. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 11:54, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My draft was decline[edit]

Hi Styyx, I've created a post for Yaron Rozen. It was declined because it doesn't have enough cites on the footer. The problem is that most of the sources are in Hebrew. The thing is Yaron Rozen has a post on the Hebrew Wikipedia. I just want to translate it to English. I've tried to do it in the Hebrew Wikipedia and they told m to do it here. Please help me understand if I'm doing something wrong This is the draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yaron_Rosen This is the one in Hebrew https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%99%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%9F_%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%96%D7%9F — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.81.5.200 (talk) 13:16, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! According to our biographies of living persons policy, pretty much everything in a biography must be sourced and unsourced material must be removed. It doesn't matter if the sources are in a different language, you can still add the sources in Hebrew. Also, the subject of the page must meet the general notability guideline, and the draft in it's current state with a few sources that barely mention the subject doesn't show that. If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask me or post it at the articles for creation help desk. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 14:34, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that, per Wikipedia:Global rights policy#Global rollbackers, you are only permitted to use the suppressredirect right in the context of counter-vandalism efforts. A lot of the recent page moves you've been making seem to violate that policy. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:39, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pppery I am aware of the policy. Pre 5 November it was because of the MoveToDraft script not working well (see #Page mover and R2 and #Speedy deletion nominations above). Since then I move it by hand and add a speedy tag without the script. The one you're referring to is probably Filli Vannili, which is a page I accidentally created myself with a typo in the title. Thanks for the reminder anyways. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 15:54, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion for Urnas Abiertas article?[edit]

Hi. Can you explain why you're deleting the article? Asaturn (talk) 10:50, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Asaturn. The current references cited don't show that the organization meets the criteria listed at WP:ORG. In addition, the article actually hasn't been deleted, I've moved it to Draft:Urnas Abiertas, where you can freely work on the article and submit it via the articles for creation process. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 10:56, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I misunderstood as I was still looking at the old link. As per the draft and "fixing it" - it is linked to from 2021 Nicaraguan general election and I have been attempting all week to make good faith additions of good citations to the main article, but two individuals who have been warned to stop continue to remove my edits in a blatant NPOV edit war. I opted to edit the article for the organization being cited in the main article instead. The notability of this org is important because they are the sole source of claims aimed at discrediting the official results of the 2021 general election in Nicaragua. I believe it is important, as the election is an ongoing event, to provide as much good information as possible. Removing this article from prime time removes vital information from Wikipedia. This org is cited in significant coverage from large global news organizations such as CNN. The main Nicaragua election article has been receiving tens of thousands of visitors per day. Please let me know what needs to be done to put the Urnas Abiertas article live again. I am making good faith attempts at adding solid information from sources that meet WP's policies. Happy to change anything that isn't technically correct in terms of the rules here. Asaturn (talk) 11:01, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
PS would it make more sense to you to put this information in the main election article instead? Asaturn (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi please disregard my last 2 messages. I have never created an article and missed the part of the process with submitting for review. Thanks for your time! Asaturn (talk) 11:10, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On 24 November 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Filli Vanilli, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the title of the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic episode "Filli Vanilli" references the lip-syncing scandal of the German-French R&B duo Milli Vanilli? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Filli Vanilli. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Filli Vanilli), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Untitled[edit]

Hi I don't see an add topic button, just this add section so here I go. I tried to be bold and create a new page for Moira Smiley. I created a draft first. I guess I didn't publish the page properly. I realized I had accidently not capitalized her last name, so the only way I could find to correct it was to move it to a new page spelled correctly. Then it got flagged, so I marked it for deletion. I'd like to try again with a fresh page. I saved the text. Please advise if you would be so kind and then I'll try again without the redirect. thanks! Colliedog (talk) 16:52, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Colliedog! I don't exactly remember every detail from the article. It had some external links in the body paragraph, which either should be removed or moved to a special section at the end of the article, if it's appropiate. To have an article in Wikipedia, the subject must meet the general notability guideline, which in short means that there must be multiple reliable, independent and significant sources about the subject. Also, I've fixed the message appearing on top of my page, thanks! ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 17:40, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Styyx. I'll try again and add a few more references. I believe she meets the general notability guidelines, so I'll add some more references and try again. Not sure what was wrong with links, so I'll make edits there as needed. thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Colliedog (talkcontribs) 17:59, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Styyx. Thanks for pointing out problems. I figured out what you meant about links and the external ones have been moved to that section at the bottom. I've added a couple more references to help with notability requirements. There's much more press coverage I'll add later but I'm hoping others will help with the heavy lifting once the page is discovered. thanks! Colliedog (talk) 19:15, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello GJAHANA! The subject of the article must meet the general notability guideline, which means that there have to be multiple reliable, independent and significant sources about the actor. Anyone can upload to YouTube, thus it isn't considered to be reliable. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 12:42, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Solo Türk[edit]

Hi! I saw your DYK-nom on SoloTürk, and wanted to congratulate you for that. Unfortunately, my article "Solo Türk" on the same topic, of which I have a copy, was deleted in September 2015. I wish you success, and hope that you will create many interesting Turkey-related articles. Best regards. CeeGee 13:52, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CeeGee! I saw the AfD when redirecting Solo Türk to the article after creating it. The main two delete arguments were lack of sources and countries having multiple solo aircraft teams per year. I think both issues are non-existent at the moment with the sourcing in the article and the fact that SoloTürk has been the only solo aircraft of the TAF for over 10 years now. The 10 year anniversary also resulted in a lot more sources, so I don't see this being renominated anytime soon. :) Feel free to add any significant information that I missed to the article. Cheers! ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 14:02, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I wish you good luck for your article. It is a very nice one. Congrats. CeeGee 10:22, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Inviting to join deletion discussion[edit]

@Styyx, As someone who previously contested in favor of this article, and being the initial reviewer, I request and invite you to join the discussion of its deletion started by User:Tytrox, and share your opinion. Thanks. -- Tame (talk) 07:04, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Özlem Tekin[edit]

I think she's significant. That's why Özlem Tekin's page is really developed. We still listen her songs, for example Aşk Her Şeyi Affeder Mi? a song that you can hear on the street of Turkey in 2021. I believe music is international and if it's not enough there are many movies and series she performed. And I found she was the main character in some. For example;| Karaoğlan. Thank you[edit]

For your excellent work on those village articles - very much appreciated. For info, and if you have time and/or are interested, pretty much all of the related villages in the template at the foot of the article have also had the redirect treatment done to them. I don't want to burden you with a ton of work, but if any of those places jump out at you as possible expansions, that would be fantastic. Thanks again! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:47, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lugnuts My time on Wikipedia has been quite limited lately, but I've converted two more redirects back into an article. I can only call this an absolute joke... ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 18:28, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for this. Yes, I echo your comment. I'd say more, but I'm keeping my big mouth shut to avoid any trouble! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:36, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Article review[edit]

Hello Styyx, thanks again for rescuing sources for all those articles! I recently created an article that another reviewer judged possibly non-notable, imo, against good sense. The article Anja Daems had indeed been deleted in the past, but this shouldn't be a bias against it, or should it? There were six sources to Belgian national publishers in my first version 1. For those familiar with Belgium the subject is obviously notable, but for those who aren't, like the reviewer, that's still enough to prove notability, which can be confirmed by simply googling Anja Daems. I was then forced to add more sources, which was absolutely unnecessary and makes the article look funny at best and ugly at worst now, 2.

If you have time, I ask you to review the article measuring it against the same yardstick of Linde Merckpoel. Thank you in advance.--Cassius Fury (talk) 12:16, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cassius Fury! Previously deleted pages can be deleted under speedy G4. However the article in question was deleted over 7 years ago after a PROD and not a deletion discussion, so it is ineligible for this criteria. Looking at the sources and doing a search, I see enough reliable and independent ones in Dutch, so I marked the page as patrolled. The reference bombing you've done can obviously be removed now. :) Have a good day! ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 12:49, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, and thanks! When creating the page I did see it had been deleted because it "didn't seem notable" to another editor, but honestly I didn't even check the previous version nor looked at the date of the deletion! If by over seven days ago you mean it was deleted in the past weeks, than maybe it's more comprehensible, or less serious, that someone tagged it as possibly non-notable a priori.
I will figure out whether to trim the WP:REFBOMB or spread the sources by lengthening the article a little bit. Have a good day too =D .--Cassius Fury (talk) 13:07, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish villages[edit]

Thanks for expanding some of these Turkish village stubs. Hopefully more in-depth coverage can be found, since most of the sources are just passing mentions, but it's a start. A major concern at ANI was that Koyumuz is an unreliable source, so do you think you could update the population figures with a reliable source when you restore? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dlthewave (talkcontribs)

Hello Dlthewave! I found a report by TÜİK that shows the population of each village in Düzce as of 2000 (so 12 years before what is mentioned in most articles). I'll replace the Köyümüz source with this one and change the population in the infobox accordingly. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 14:48, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks! I'm considering opening a wider community discussion about articles sourced only to these population tables, since tables do not establish notability per WP:NGEO and have led to problems with inappropriate article creation in the past. –dlthewave 14:51, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have unreviewed a page you curated[edit]

Hi, I'm DMySon. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Anja Daems, and have marked it as unreviewed. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

Sorry to bother again[edit]

Hi Styyx, sorry to bother you again. After you reviewed the aforementioned article, the user I mentioned had the great idea of unreviewing it 1. I had tried to advise the user regarding what I perceive as a mistake made by them (the non-objective or careless review of the article), so that they may not make it in the future. I was not hoping to change their mind regarding this article, as probably visible in my message to them 2, but I had the intention of actually helping them in their extremely important task as reviewer by letting them know their mistakes. They definitely didn't like it, and the article got unreviewed.

It appears there is some fundamental error of judgement by the user, because if the article clearly met notability before, now there are thrice as many sources. Or maybe there's some problem between this user and me, or the user in the article, but: is retaliation allowed at Wikipedia?

I definitely want to report what happened, but I'm not sure the matter is serious enough to be brought to the administrators' attention. Hope to get your precious advice once again.--Cassius Fury (talk) 16:24, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Some baklava for you![edit]

Looks like the problem is solved thanks to your mediation. Here's some baklava and, though I'm kind of a newbie, let me know if you need help with some article!--Cassius Fury (talk) 17:10, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Cassius Fury I usually don't work on articles much. Thanks for the yummy baklava! ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 17:55, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for SoloTürk[edit]

On 23 December 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article SoloTürk, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that despite being an aerobatic demonstration aircraft, SoloTürk (pictured) is still used in some military operations of the Turkish Air Force? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/SoloTürk. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, SoloTürk), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
