Why the Revert?

Why the automatic revert on Tony Blair Sasquatch? Am I not a 'member of the club', and therefore you automatically revert without thinking or explaining? Wikipedia style policy is for TOC not to float, except in exceptional circumstances. Savoir-faire

Thanks for fixing the conflicting close on this. When I edit to close I remove the "&section=1" from the edit URL, which ensures that I am editing the whole document and not just the VfD section--this ensures I don't accidentally embed a close inside someone else's, and instead get a hard edit conflict when saving.

The VfD was close, I was tempted to transwiki, but in the end the objections of Grace Note and Robert Horning led me to rule this out on the basis of absence of consensus. Protection Rules

Kelly Martin and McLaine were not editing on this issue, they have chimed in after the fact. You really should stick to the rules instead of trying to weigh the equity. Please UNLOCK KENNEDY ARTICLE. The info should be included because of the attention it generated. HOWEVER, that section was mainly POV garbage written by a 2 year old. so, the solution is to add:

The Senator was involved in the rape trial of William Kennedy Smith in 1991, having took stand during the trial.[1]

So it seems like they were gonna do what they wanted to do all along, moving the case to the arbritation committee. So how does that work? This essay and others claim repeatedly that I'm not answering their arguments, when if you look at the RfC, I am answering their arguments, and it is they that have not answered mine. Why did you, in effect, subst {{db-reason}} into {{Db-nonsense}}? Leaving nonsense as a call to the basic db tempalte would ensure that any future change in the db tempalte would be reflected in all the speedy deleteion tempaltes, which IMO would be a good thing. The usual argument about server performance and possible widespread vandalism used to oppose meta-templates don't, IMO, apply here, since none of the speedy delete templates are (I should hope) likely to be on a large number of articles at once, nor are those articles likely to be frequently accessed. Templates in Templates, and Speedys in particular

I am quite aware of the general reasons for avoiding meta-tempaltes, as I thought my previosu note to you would have indicated. But as I understand it, the server cost only becomes significant when such templates are used on many pages, or on frequently accessed pages, or when the base template is frequently changed. None of these cases apply to the speedy deletion templates. The main reason for implementing these templates via trasclusion of {{db-reason}} is to ensure that they always have exactly the same text -- that any changes made to the general text of {{db-reason}} are automatically made to all the other relevant templates. It is not a question of being able to edit the test of the subst'd temaplte, it is a question of ensurign that any future edit to {{db-reason}} is also reflected in the other speedy deletion tempaltes. Please consider reverting this change or droppign your objectiosn to someone else reverting it, or at least discussing it on Template talk:Db-reason#Transclusion.

Lucidish edits as anon

I (65.92.56.236) am lucidish. However, unforunately, Wikipedia has developed some kind of error that bars me from editing any full article when logged in -- I can only edit in sections. Yet the problem does not occur when I am anonymous.

Therefore, if I need to edit introductions, or have access to the full page, I must do it anonymously. I have alerted Metawiki about the problem. Until the problem is sorted out, people can be as suspicious as they like, because I'm powerless to do a thing. Lucidish

I figured out why we were having trouble with the CSS; it's a .js issue! To change "edit this page" to "edit" you have to add

if(document.getElementById('ca-edit'))
       document.getElementById('ca-edit').firstChild.innerHTML = 'Edit';

Aloha. I have been working on Wikipedia: WikiProject Hawaii as well as populating Category:Wikipedians in Hawaii. On August 7, I added five users to the category, all of whom claim to live in Hawaii, either on their user page or on discussion pages:

Around two hours later at 04:22, a discussion was started on WP:ANI regarding User:Coqsportif and his disruptive trolling. At 13:02, User:Coqsportif added his user page to the category, [3] two minutes after (13:00) making a comment to my talk pge. [4]:

It's safe to assume he saw the category on my user page and then added it to his own user page two minutes later. I wasn't aware that he had added this category until 03:12 on August 10, and removed it at that time, since he had never mentioned anything about Hawaii, and had an edit history of adding and removing things incorrectly, as well as engaging in trollish edits. It wasn't until 12:14 on August 10 that he claimed to be "Hawaiian", [5] and the page has not been reverted after that time. So with that said, I hope you undersand that your comments on my page, There is nothing wrong for the user to claim to be from and/or living Hawaii and therefore you have no right to refute that claim is incorrect, as I never reverted the category after he made his initial claim. --Viriditas | Talk 00:24, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

I'm at a computer lab at Stony Brook University, and a high school student I know comes next to me, and sees me editing the DYK template. First, he types my keyboard so that the edit summary for protecting the main page image includes two random letters. Then, when I proceed and tell him to stop, he gets on the computer and vandalises George W Bush, as you noticed, putting messages to me on the article. I fullheartedly support your block, but he got tired after I didn't respond, and he left the computer lab. Hello, Sasquatch! Would you mind taking a look at User talk:Kevin baas? I blocked him for 24 hours after a WP:3RR violation, reported by Raul at WP:AN/3RR. I just needed another opinion; I was getting thoroughly confused with the page moves and history, etc. I'm going to unblock him, with the provision that he not edit those pages (which I have protected, but I think all of the involved parties are admins).
