Section blanking
Hey, wasn't quite sure why you blanked out a substantial portion of Starbomb that went over their overall formation and release history. I'd included it since this is sort of par for the course with group acts and it also helps combat a proposal that we only have articles on the albums and not the group. Woops. I think I just deleted the history part without even noticing. Embarassing :P My apologies. However I'm not sure about which names we should use in the article. Well it seems that they are credited to their actual names. So I think we should refer to them under their real names, but in the lead, call them Dan "Danny Sexbang", Brian "Ninja Brian" Wrecht and Arin "Egoraptor" Hansen. While I intend(ed) to follow these instructions, due to the fact that you blocked my account I was unable to log into it and edit anything - including your talk page. It's not that I ignored your request - I had no way of fulfilling it, so I made the best with what I had.

STOP POSTING ON MY TALK PAGE. Not only is this NOT going to get the desired result (an unblock), it looks very, VERY bad. It's to the point now where I have to assume that you're deliberately ignoring what I say. What you need to do here is very, very specific. You need to log into the LordStarscream100 account and post an unblock request on that talk page. Not mine. Not the IP address. But the LordStarscream100 talk page. Neither I nor anyone else will unblock you until you have done this and no amount of posting on my talk page under an IP will change this. This is one of the most basic, fundamental rules of getting unblocked. You must request an unblock on the talk page of the blocked account while logged in as that user. You would still be able to post on that talk page under that account while logged in as that user. You are not supposed to post anywhere else. This is very clearly specified on the talk page and I've told you what you need to do several times. At this point I have to assume that you either can't or won't follow these directions, which makes me believe that you're simply not ready to edit Wikipedia if you cannot follow the very simple guidelines for requesting an unblock.
If it's just that you don't understand and nothing that I'm saying is making sense, then it's a case of you being far to young and/or inexperienced to edit on Wikipedia. If that's the case then you need to come back in a few years when you have more experience. But if it's a case of you willfully ignoring guidelines, then that's something that time likely won't fix and in which case it's not a good idea for you to edit Wikipedia at all. Your comment on the Inspire project related to the banned editors
Hi. I read your comment on the Inspire campaign page. It seems to me that your concerns are twofold:
(Main concern) Non-disclosure by thekohser of banned status and non-disclosure of affiliation with Wikipediocracy
(Slight concern) Canvassing on Wikipediocracy
Here are my thoughts on the first point:
Notice that the page includes an "oppose" section; in many of the Inspire campaign pages, the oppose section is moved to the talk page.
Perhaps you were not familiar with Greg Kohs, but most of the people on the page are. I can guarantee that every single one of opposers is familiar with Kohs' history. Some people explicitly oppose the project because it is being carried out by Kohs (like Smallbones), while others' opinions are definitely coloured by his background. Not that there is anything improper about this: a person's background is perfectly fine thing to consider.
Both on the talk page and the main page, people have brought up Kohs' history. See for instance, the comment by BethNaught dated 5 June. See also Smallbones' comment dated 9 June.
Or to look at it another way, consider the following thought experiment: suppose this same idea had been proposed by a totally neutral, clean person. Do you think there would have been fewer or more opposers?
As for canvassing: note the following sentence here: An idea's placement in this list does not signify that it is better or worse than any other idea, and the number of endorsements an idea receives does not determine whether that idea will be selected for funding. I wasn't aware of him, however even with his infamy in mind, it's still something that should've been disclosed up front when he posted his idea. I can't argue with your opinion of what should have been done; that is a subjective matter. However, I find the disclosure point very weird. It is the norm on Wikipedia to be anonymous: I don't know anything about you, nor do you about me. For all you know, I could be a sockpuppet of Kohs (I am not). In contrast, we have a person here who uses his real name, and one whose history is very easy to find, both on his own Wikipedia user page, as well as the Inspire page and the talk page. It's a slightly different aspect in this scenario, given that they're asking for funding from the WMF and this was set up like it was going to be a scientific paper. In this type of situation transparency is just sort of a given since a lack of transparency in a study/paper of this type can easily cause it to become discredited. Would you please take a look around for source material for Art Supawatt Purdy? The author is earnestly trying to make a good article and it is on an old Thai actor so even if he is notable sourcing will be difficult. I can not find anything significant but you have found things to save articles that I have missed in the past. The author has added some material since I nominated it for AfD but with what I can see of it there is nothing that would make me comfortable withdrawing my nomination (no one has !voted yet so it would SK) I value your opinion and would very much appriciate any help you may be able to give. Re photo collection
We decided to preserve the photo negative collection I mentioned to you a few months ago through Radford University - Farmer Photo Collection]. About 2500 of the 100,000 or so photos have been digitized so far. It is searchable here and browsable here. They are licensed for non-commercial use and if an editor needs a more permissible license for a specific picture or set of pictures I can ask the estate. JbhTalk 00:00, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

No, I do not think anyone has contacted the Library of Virginia. We tried the Virginia Histrorical Socity but they could not handle the number of films. The Document Bank looks interesting. One series I found (not in the Radford collection) was in a scrapbook of advertisements for the studio over the years. Each a portrait of a woman wearing an Easter bonnet which, incidentally, shows how bonnet styles changed over the decades. (Not something I am really interested in but I am sure there are American Studies types out there who are interested in such things)
As far as I know, all of the physical images at Radford are negatives so if the Library wanted items for display they would be prints from scans or new photographic prints. There are so many types of images I do not know what they may be interested in, nor yet how to find them. JbhTalk 19:30, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

(1) I am not Annie van Bebber, nor do I have any connection to her or her business.
(2) I have been using this nickname on other sites since the mid- to late-1990s, and I was not aware of her existence when I first used it.
(3) I do not represent any sort of corporation or clients or other moneyed interests, and my edits have never been -- and never will be -- on behalf of anyone like that.
(4) I first registered this username on Wikipedia in 2004, and no one has complained about it or pointed out any issues in the ***12 years*** that I've had it. (I'm not sure what has suddenly changed now.)
That said, I will try to change my username if something more worthwhile is available. However, you should be aware that this kind of thing is not exactly encouraging me to remain on the site or continue participating. @Digitalmaven: You've got to understand - you have an identical username to a marketing company. Your edits didn't immediately raise suspicion, which is why I reversed the block. As far as the username remaining for 12 years, you also need to understand that there have been a great, great many promotional usernames that have survived over multiple years because the users either weren't active enough to get noticed. What raised suspicions was that you edited on a page that is currently up for AfD (The People's Book Prize (UK)) and is one of several articles written by someone looking to promote a person on Wikipedia. While this isn't resounding proof of promotional editing, you can see where there would be suspicion of possible COI editing. You have an article linked to promotional editing and you have someone with a username that's identical to that used by a marketing professional that specializes in internet marketing. It's not really all that unreasonable to have some concern that it could be this person doing some mild editing for people that she represents, especially since this does happen on Wikipedia quite frequently. We have had several cases of marketing people editing with promotional usernames that didn't get noticed until years later. Part of this is because until fairly recently (last 3 years or so) paid editing wasn't as big of a problem as it is now. Scrutiny has grown only more intense over time and I think that part of the reason why you didn't really get noticed before then is because you edited so sporadically and lightly. I'm sorry for the mistake but there was a reasonable amount of evidence to be concerned over potential paid editing. Even if you had been the marketing person (you have said that you are not) that wouldn't have been a big problem since the only issue would've been the lack of a COI declaration. Question about reverting of an administrative action
I have just discovered that about a month ago you restored the article Madaari, which I had deleted. I find this very surprising, for the following reasons:
You gave the reason as "there does appear to be enough sourcing to justify an article", but that seems to me to be totally irrelevant, as the reason for deletion was nothing to do with lack of sourcing: it was creation by a block-evading editor. The relevant speedy deletion criterion is "Creations by banned or blocked users", not "Creations by banned or blocked users without adequate sourcing".
You stated that the restoration was "per a request from the sockmaster". I wonder how that can be justified. The whole reason for having "Creations by blocked users" as a speedy deletion reason is so that block-evading editors learn that they don't get away with evading blocks, as any work they do is just lost: teaching them that in fact they do get away with it, by simply getting another administrator to reverse the deletion, completely undermines that reason.
It is normal practice for an administrator to consult another administrator before reversing his or her admin action. On the rare occasions when I believe there is a good reason to reverse another administrator's action without first consulting him or her, I at the very least do him or her the courtesy of informing them afterwards of what I have done. Perhaps naively, I thought that other administrators would normally do the same. (The only exception I can think of offhand is when I reverse an action by an administrator who has not edited for a very long time, probably a year or more.)
A fact which makes all this far more surprising to me than would otherwise be the case is the fact that you actually wrote "I know that's a bit contentious" about your action. If you knew that what you were doing was contentious, then how on earth could you even consider doing it without consulting, or at least informing, the person whose action you were reversing? The policy on administrators says "administrative actions should not be reversed without good cause, careful thought, and (if likely to be objected to), where the administrator is presently available, a brief discussion with the administrator whose action is challenged"; there is no doubt whatever that you knew that what you were doing was "likely to be objected to": that is evidently what you meant by "I know that's a bit contentious". Even if you were ignorant of the fact that the policy says that, I am sure that you know well enough how Wikipedia works to know that in this situation you should have mentioned it to me
Finally, the thing which really makes this most surprising of all to me is that in the past I have always found you to be one of the most level-headed, reliable, and cooperative administrators, one of the last ones I would have expected to act without informing the other person involved in a situation of this kind.
I am aware that there is a danger that this message may read a bit like an angry rant. It is, in fact, more in astonishment than in anger that I write it, but in writing, without tone of voice and facial expression to go by, the two can seem very similar. In any case, I shall be very grateful if you will explain to me why you acted in the way you did, and whether you believe you were right to do so. I'm editing from my phone, so pardon any autocorrect errors. Ultimately you're right, I should've asked you first. However at the time things had not grown as bad with that specific editor and at that time I was more willing to believe the editor's claims that they were an inexperienced editor who just didn't really know better. I was suspicious, but not nearly as much as I am now. At that point in time I still had some faith that they could edit in a beneficial manner in the future and thought it would be a good teachable moment and a sign of good will. A carrot, if you will. I need to check my notes to him, but I think I told him that this would essentially be a one off and that I wasn'y going to let him edit through me. The article wasn't all that bad notability wise, so I thought it'd be a reasonable one to restore, since it provides an example of a better sourced article, since one of his issues was sourcing to establish notability.
After that point things went rapidly down hill as we began finding more signs that his ignorance was the result of him deliberately disregarding rules. Ultimately this was a poorly thought out attempt to show some good will and hopefully get an editor on track since again, at that point I still had hoped he could learn from his mistakes. Since then my opinion of him changed dramatically, to say the least. I probably would've gone back and deleted it, except by that point I admittedly forgot about it in the face of the editor's tone and claims after that point in time.
so the basic gist is that I let my compassion overrule my common sense, something that likely led to the editor thinking he could get away with even more. I'll try to write more explanation soon, but this is the gist of everything.Tokyogirl79 (｡◕‿◕｡) 14:18, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
OK, thanks for the explanation, and you don't need to give any more explanation, unless you would like to. I do understand everything you say, and your comment about compassion is totally in line with my impression of you: one of the things I like best about you is that, unlike many administrators, you are always willing to consider the point of view of editors who have come up against Wikipedia policies. I believe I am more often willing to give second chances to blocked editors than most admins, and you seem to be even more inclined in that direction than I am. I still think it was a mistake not to consult me (as you have agreed) but I don't see any need to pursue the matter any further. Incidentally, although there is no really convenient way of editing from a phone, I find that although the mobile version of Wikipedia is better for reading on a phone, the desktop version is better for editing, so if I want to edit from my phone I first scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Desktop" link. I think I'd agree with you on that - it was a little difficult trying to type and find all of the various things on my phone, some of which I'd have been able to use if I'd switched to desktop mode. I definitely prefer editing via a computer. As far as this all goes, it definitely taught me a lesson the hard way. Ressy, copyright is still an issue since we cannot accept copyright release statements posted to Wikipedia itself. To give Wikipedia permission to use the material you'd have to get the copyright holder (the station owner) to submit a ticket through WP:OTRS. As far as the numbers and proof of notability go, all you have to do is provide an independent, reliable source that backs up the claims and as someone who works with the station, you'd have the best ability to find and provide these sources. Checking with the Australian version of the FCC would likely be the best way to get this information, as they tend to list at least some of the material needed to prove notability and the government would be seen as an independent and reliable source. @Calgarytech: Hi! Did you check at Draft:Patricia Matthews (politician)? It looks like it was moved multiple times by different people, so you might be looking at an older page that came from the page moves. On a side note, I just realized that your username does somewhat imply that you're editing on behalf of an organization like a tech company, so you might want to change your username if you're not affiliated with anyone. If you are, you'll need to disclose your WP:COI and choose something that reflects on you more as an individual, like "Calgarytechguru" or "Robin at CalgaryTech". Offhand I don't see any huge issues with your editing if you do have a COI since you're doing pretty much all your editing via AfC, it's just that Wikipedia can be a stickler about usernames and has grown more strict about them over the years. Hi Piyushratnu! I didn't see a source on the page that backed up the date of birth and his family (siblings and parents) which is what Wikipedia would need to have that info if it gets challenged, which it was. Hmm... per WP:BLPSELFPUB we can use sources that are published by Mr. Singh himself, so if he wanted to or could put out something (like a Twitter post) that explicitly confirmed the missing information (DoB, family, birth location) then we could probably use that unless someone really has a lot of doubt about this. I guess I could send out tweets asking him about his family and the other basic information and he could confirm it? It'd be something like "Mr. Singh, when and where were you born?" and he could reply something like "Thanks for asking - I was born on 12 May 1979 in Jamshedpur to Manjeet and Rita Kumar." It's obviously me looking for information for Wikipedia, but I could tack something on like "asking for Wikipedia". I think that this should be OK, but it'd be better if this info was published in some place like the Times of India, since then it'd be far more difficult to contest. Let me know what you think. @Piyushratnu: I received the email and I'll try to start working this in - however we would need to have good sourcing to show that he would pass WP:NCREATIVE. This is somewhat of a tricky situation here since it looks like there were attempts to create an article for Pandey in the past and at some point there was sockpuppetry involved, meaning that 1-3 specific people opened up multiple accounts to get the article created. I don't think that you're part of this group, but it can make it very difficult to get an article created, especially if the sourcing isn't very strong. I didn't find much for him when I searched, but it's possible that he could have received coverage in another language. He did create a song for a government project, but there isn't enough coverage of that to show that it would make him notable for that alone. I must warn you, it might be a long while before this page could be moved to the mainspace, if ever. This is a situation where I'd probably draw in one of the admins that deleted the prior versions, just to make sure that they're OK with it if we get enough sourcing. Oh wow, that is some bizarre editing. I can't even figure out why they're doing what they're doing. Normally there's at least some justification for what someone does, such as outright vandalism or someone who means well but doesn't really have a good grasp on editing and writing for whatever reason. This is just fairly random text. I've given them a short block, but I don't anticipate it really doing much since they edit so infrequently. At the very least this will at least show that they've gotten some sort of official warning and block, so we can justify longer blocks in the future if they continue. Since this article's creation in 2010 it has had multiple issues, as can be seen on the article page. As right now, there is a new issue: the website (and presumably the company behind it) have announced that it is defunct.
It has now been nominated for speedy deletion. That the website is no longer in operation appears to me not a valid reason for WP:A7 deletion. A casual google search yields "About 1,230,000 results", mostly in sources that would not be considered reliable, but also in reliable independent sources such as The Sydney Morning Herald and The Wall Street Journal.

Do you think it is worthwhile to go to AFD about this? Or should we just leave it as it is, and apply maintenance tags where appropriate?

New Collaboration
Hello T.G. it's been a while since I have updated you on the progress of our previous collaboration, I Drink Your Blood. Just want to let you know that I have already incorporated what I have done so far on the draft page into the actual article itself. However its still needs a little more work done to it though, namely giving proper citations to unsourced material, updating citations, and expanding the section on the film's controversy. At the moment I am finished with the article, and I am leaving it up to others to further modify and expand it.
I am also working on a new article to collaborate on for WikiProject Horror. It is the article on the infamous horror character Leatherface which is pretty significant but, unfortunately, it is in a state of severe underdevelopment and suffering from poor writing and few sources. My plan is to expand it significantly so that it reaches its full potential, and quite possibly become a featured article like the one on Jason Voorhees. However, for this particular project I will need the help of as many editors as possible since the level of expansion needed would be too daunting for any one or even three editors. Like our other collaboration, I have already created a draft for the use of expanding the article which I will include the link here. Let me know whether or not you would be able to help expand the article on my talk page and see if you can get other people on this. AfD instructions are a bit confusing
On the AfD page it says under "Procedure for non-administrator close (other)":
"The result will require action by an administrator: Deletion (except for certain TfD discussions)".
That's the opposite, if I'm understanding it correctly.. From experience, I've found that what the WP:NAC page says is what people normally act on, should the short line on the AfD page be changed to something like:
"Non-admins are not allowed to close AfD discussion as delete, but they are allowed to close discussion as both redirect and merge.". -- Anarchyte(work | talk) 08:42, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Hmm... that's a good point. I'd mention this at WT:AFD, as the NAC page says that the main exception for deletions is at TfD. At the very least there should be further explanation on this on the NAC page, like they can close it as a delete if the page was deleted by an admin and they didn't note this on the AfD page.
