Categories

Here are some suggested categories for The Revols. Add this to the bottom of the page, underneath all of the text. Use these or not, as you see fit.

• [[Category:1960s music groups|Revols, The]]
• [[Category:Musical groups established in 1960|Revols, The]]
• [[Category:American rock music groups|Revols, The]]

Note the sorting key after the name of the category (|Revols, The). This key is used to sort the name of the article in the category listings only. It does not affect the article itself. If you don’t add the sorting key, then the article will show up in the category listings under T because the name of the article is The Revols.

It can be difficult to find the right categories. There are two strategies for finding the correct category:

• Find a similar group that might have the same categories, open the edit window, and copy the category or categories at the bottom of the page. Be sure to change the sorting key before pasting it into your article.
• Start with a very generic category, such as [[Category:bands]] (enter “Category:Bands” in the search box), and then drill down through the listings to find the category that fits.
  • Find the most specific category that fits. In other words, do not just use the category Musical groups. That’s too generic.
  • Do not put an article in a category and one of its subcategories. Use only the most specific one that fits. In other words, putting an article in the category 1960s music groups automatically adds that article to the parent categories.

Revols, The

1. I corrected the category in The Revols. It turns out the category name for Canadian groups has a slightly different form from the category for American groups.
2. If you have a larger image of the scanned newspaper clipping for Image:RevolsBeginning2.jpg, you could upload that and replace the existing one. It would be good if the users could read the picture caption. Don’t worry about it being too big—Wikipedia will automatically reduce it to the proper size to fit in the box on the page. If you choose to upload a larger version, click the link on the image page that says “Upload a new version of this file.” ●DanMS 01:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

• Thankyou, I e-mailed the person who provided me with these scans, and asked for a higher resolution of that "Beginning" picture. I'll replace it if I get it.

I'll also update this article when a few books I've ordered with some more information, arrive.

Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

HELP

Please help me keep these images part of the articles The Revols and Ken Kalmusky I have the newspaper publishing information for these pictures, and articles, that are mentioned in the Wikipedia articles, I also have already listed the full publisher Information for the scanned cover of the Book "Across The Great Divide" that's already been deleted.

All are low resolution images, of historically published newspaper articles, and books.

I can't figure out how to associate the appropriate information with each Image, to keep it from deletion. Someone please help me ??

You have placed the correct licensing on the image. Just place where you got the images from...i.e. Newspaper, issue, date, page, etc. Miranda 04:23, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Practice pages

If you want to begin building a page but not “go live” with it yet, the best way is to make a sub-page in your own user space. You can put everything there, experiment with it, etc., and then when you are ready, just copy the whole thing into the main Wikipedia namespace. In order to create a sub-page in your user space, you can follow this red link and then put info in it and save the page. The way to do it is to put a link to [[/page name]] on your own user page (not this talk page), and then click that link to start the new page. Note the slash before the page name. That makes it a sub-page of whatever page the link is on. Substitute whatever page name you would like. One caveat: Fair use images are not allowed on user pages. You will have to wait until you post the article to add the image. You can try it out temporarily while you are building the page, but don’t leave the image on your temp page for any length of time. File copyright problem with File:Kalmusky.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Kalmusky.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
