Re: Taiwan Province[edit]

Thanks for letting me know. Great you're back and active again. :-D — Instantnood 19:50, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are you referring to? — Instantnood 21:04, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What would the notice be like? — Instantnood 18:16, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Penwhale,

I thought you might be interested in the fact that I've listed the page at WP:RFC/HIST. Hope that works for you. :D -Penwhale | Blast the Penwhale 09:56, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message; I've added a suggestion to the Solidify the Template and the talk page? thread you started on the (yes, currently misnamed) talk page. Yours, David Kernow (talk) 01:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-apology[edit]

I sort of want to apologize for my prior post on your talk page. I DID mean every word I said, but it was said in anger. Therefore, it may have not been the best way to deal with things. I will not apologize for being passionate and angry. Go ahead and report me again, if it makes you feel like a man. I'm not afraid. Squealing is what you seem to do best, so have at it. Maybe one day you'll become a man. But I doubt it. Monkeybreath 19:48, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

195.195.244.67[edit]

I've blocked it for anonymous editors only. If there are any well-meaning users at this IP address (and thus far I have seen none), then they can create an account. I've tagged the talk page with the appropriate tag now. Proto:: 11:11, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

209.66.18.165 also zapped. The place to go is WP:AIV - I'm not always around (sadly!) :) Proto:: 19:34, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: 207.157.54.2 at WP:AIV[edit]

You wrote on my talk page:

I took the liberty of removing your report because I've filed one on the exact same IP a few minutes before you did. See the edit history, if you wouldn't mind.

You sure did get there before me; I should have noticed that earlier. Thank you very much for bailing me out. --JFreeman (talk) 20:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE the 2 requests[edit]

Just tag it with ((db|uploader requests deletion, image unused)). There's a formal tag (db-user), but a simple db will be fine if you explain why. Make sure it is orphaned first, ie not used in any pages. I will have a look at the Editor Review, but I might not contribute if I don't feel I have anything of note to add. Proto:: 11:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editor review asterisks[edit]

Thanks. I found that very confusing. --Dweller 14:02, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your suggestion[edit]

I think once the checkuser is done, this will be resolved. Travb (talk) 12:38, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:163.167.129.124[edit]

I appreciate your good intentions but it is the anon user's right to remove warnings from their page once they have been read. I am watching and will block them if they vandalise any articles but the warnings remain visible in the user page history anyway do this is not worth fighting over. Best regards, --Guinnog 14:40, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davisstandings[edit]

Can you explain your reasoning for putting the {{db-empty}} tag on the article? The author appears to be new, and I was going to discuss with him the scope of the article, and how it might be adjusted to fit into the enclyclopedia better. In any case, I don't think it meets the empty criteria, but I wouldn't be opposed to using another tag if you can explain the reasoning. Leebo86 14:52, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for applying the specific and thorough tag. It might just be my ignorance of the NFL that is causing my confusion, but is there information regarding the "Davis Standings" elsewhere in the encyclopedia? I searched, but didn't find anything. It sounds like a tool similar to the Ratings Percentage Index, with which I am familiar. Leebo86 15:05, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my userpage a few days back! I appreciate it.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:52, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Jat Article - Patiala, Nabha and Jind[edit]

Hi penwhale, you removed the dispute tags from http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Jat&action=edit&section=1 . Please review the discussion friend and see It have added verifiable citations that state that Patiala, Nabha and JInd should not be seen as Jat Kingdoms but Sikh Kingdoms. The sources used by people on that article are spurious to say the least. I think these refrences to Patiala, Nabha and Jind should be either deleted or moved to a Sikh article on Sikh Kingdoms. --82.36.147.99 08:55, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Panaca[edit]

What exactly are you trying to do with the Panaca AfD page, and the article in general? Deizio talk 11:48, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, sorry, I didn't notice it had been overwritten. All good... Deizio talk 11:51, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I've already filed the standard Checkuser request. --Calton | Talk 11:52, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed your closure to no consensus. Even though the nominator changed his/her mind, this wasn't reflected in the community opinion and withdrawn nominations only result in automatic keeps if it reflects the community consensus at that point in time. There were still a number of unresolved questions at the end of the AfD. Hopefully they were or will be resolved by the edits after closure, but if not future nominations should not be pre-jugded by one editor changing his/her opinion. Nominators don't have more say than any other editor in a debate. ~ trialsanderrors 22:56, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, sorry 'bout that. - Penwhale | Blast the Penwhale 02:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

I like your username, and your "Blast the Penwhale" talk link, though it makes mine look pretty mundane by comparison. Happy editing, Tom Harrison Talk 17:21, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Warnings[edit]

Yeah normally I do; the program I use normally adds all the templates in for me. This morning I was using a computer which I don't normally which probably explains why. Thanks for pointing it out. Jem 13:56, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to VandalProof![edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Penwhale! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. Hello[edit]

I'm sorry for my edit, I was doing RC Patrol using the Javascript RC Tools and someone else reverted the IP before I did, so I reverted the correct revert accidentally. I already reverted it back to the correct version myself. I sincerely intend to help Wikipedia and I am doing my best to do so. Sorry again! --Nevhood 00:03, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, no worries. Sorry about that. - Penwhale | Blast the Penwhale 00:04, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I've been getting a little mindless after doing patrol, I'll be more careful! --Nevhood 00:06, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: User warning tags[edit]

Oh, I see... I'm using a script that puts tabs that make it easy to place warnings. Do you know any other script I could use, with the new templates?

Thanks. FrancoGG ( talk ) 00:22, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gonna reply on your talk page. - Penwhale | Blast the Penwhale 00:24, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Reply to [1]You can customize the warnings VandalProof gives. Just open CustomButtons.txt, and change the warnings. Prodego talk 01:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly I don't like the new warnings at all, they are more complex then the simple 1-4 progression of the old ones. Therefore, I use the regular test templates. If I am sure (and I mean positive) an account is vandalism only (for example, attacking an administrator on WP:AN, which no newbie would do), I would give a {{test4im}}. Other then that I go test 1-4, I don't think {{bv}} assumes enough good faith. After all, what seems obvious vandalism to an established editor could be a test to a new editor. Prodego talk 01:35, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

if you have some time over, please wikify the article on The graaf sisters /matrix17

Please see new combined deletion debate. ~ trialsanderrors 20:04, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Wallflower anime titles[edit]

Hi! Are you referring to the romanji spelling or the english translation of the titles? I recieved most of the translations from the ANN homepage, and many were put in by other people, so if you see any that you know to be wrong, feel free to change them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tokyogirl79 (talkcontribs) 07:47, 7 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Re: Jat[edit]

Hi Penwhale, I have added dispute and various other tags to this article 3 or 4 times, but they keep getting removed without any discussion. What is happening? --Sikh-history 23:46, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They did it again? What do I do friend?--Sikh-history 14:14, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: vandalism[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up my talk page. Which list are you talking about? I think I'll just keep a protected for a couple/few days for now...not permanently unless this becomes chronic.

Do you know of a fast way to revert a series of mass page moves? see Special:Contributions/QueenHenrietta.--Jiang 06:16, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it back to semi-protection and unprotected by userpage. I went through the new user log for Jan 30 and accounted for all the Queens. All of them have already been blocked so semi-protection should be enough.--Jiang 06:39, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mainland[edit]

The distinction has to be maintained, since it's the authorities in mainland who compiled the statistics, who drawn the criteria, who defined the limits of the metropolitan areas, and who designated cities as cities. The figures may or may not be readily and directly comparable to those in other jurisdictions. Afterall it's not a matter of one single government. :-) — Instantnood 22:02, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: RFAr, 4th go around[edit]

RE: A few days late; but[edit]

Honestly, as long as they are an individual who is dedicated to the community (that means a good number of Wikipedia space contributions as well as mainspace contributions), have been around for a reasonable amount of time, show enough responsibility and maturity to handle the position, have little to no blocks on their record, and as well as have good knowledge of Wikipedia policy; then they are alright in my book ;).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 17:31, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
