Fair use rationale for Image:Island_Of_Lost_Minds.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Island_Of_Lost_Minds.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 15:05, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Monolith(Death Cube K album).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Monolith(Death Cube K album).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:07, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Praxis Profanation.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Praxis Profanation.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Buckethead Plays Disney[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Buckethead Plays Disney, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Buckethead Plays Disney. • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

I reworked your article a bit but didn't understand one particular sentence and blocked it out. It's still there so you might go back and give it another try. It's in the 1992 - 1996 section. --Say Headcheese!--hexaChord2 22:36, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saw you made an article on Animal Behavior. Why didn't you tell us on the task force page? I just found it five days later. This task force is for preventing things like this. Ah, the video section in the article needs to be fixed a bit. Maybe we can work on this together. The Praxis main article still has this passage about the connection to A Perfect Circle. Maybe you can tell me what's up with this. Is it just the same name or the same song? --Say Headcheese!--hexaChord2 08:16, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Animal Behavior (Praxis single)[edit]

I have nominated Animal Behavior (Praxis single), an article that you created, for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. This, That, and The Other[edit]

I just went through your great articles on Viggo's albums, really great work you did! I noticed some small language or style mistakes you seem to repeat most of the time:

  • you always write "on the year" but actually it's "in the year" (but of course it's "on a day" to confuse us foreigners)
  • it's "guitarist" with only one "r" unlike in Spanish or German
  • I think album titles always should be in italics
  • you build very big/long sentences with lots of commas, try shorter ones - they'll be easier to read --Say Headcheese!-hexaChord2 19:59, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
im a foreigner also, i talk spanish and im sorry by those mistakes but ill try to correct them, thanks--Pachon (talk) 20:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. In the case of a category like this one, parent categories are provided automatically when you include a {{Template category}} template. I've added the template.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Enter The Chicken reissue.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Enter The Chicken reissue.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 21:23, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:Merzbow templates]] to pages that belong in it.

I tagged the category. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of tagging and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to remove the tag if you wish. However, removing the tag will not prevent deletion of the category if it remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 21:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Cyborg-Slunks.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cyborg-Slunks.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Jigokuhen shouldn't have removed from the 13 Japanese Birds page, Important specifically calls it the 15th volume in the Japanese Birds series. File permission problem with File:Buckethead Painting -1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Buckethead Painting -1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. multichill (talk) 10:49, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:38, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merzbow discography - Collection Era[edit]

The "Collection Era" releases shouldn't be linked from the discography because they were created for the Merzbox. Collection Era Vol.1 takes tracks from Collection 001 and 002 cassettes; Vol.2 from 007, 009 and 010; Vol.3 has tracks from 008 and Tridal Production. A lot of the Merzbox reissues are different from the original releases, tracks were left off or added, or lengthened. Many cassettes didn't have track titles, other had titles changed for the Merzbox. 96.18.196.159 (talk) 19:58, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really know much about the albums themselves, which is why I haven't created the articles myself, so I just edit the discography. I get my info from the Merzbook (the discography in the book, created by Brett Woodward, contains errors and contradicts other sources. However the album notes seem mostly accurate), Primordial 2 (a discography was submitted by Akita in 1985, making this a valuable source), and Bad Alchemy 7 (by Ralf Wehowsky, but consistent with other sources, Akita submitted artwork and a track to this issue, so he probably had a part in the discography).
Some of the Merzbook notes can be found at Discogs, but there is at least one error, it says Metal Acoustic Music was "previously unreleased" but it was released in 1981 and reissued in 1989. Discogs has scans of some of the early cassettes, but is missing most of them, or only has the 1989 reissues.
Another problem is what order they were released, it's hard to find out what date something was released before about 1999. I have no idea what order any of the 80s stuff was released. As previously mentioned, some early cassettes were remixed and reissued in 1989, and these are more common than the originals.
That's about all I know, sorry I couldn't be more helpful. 96.18.196.159 (talk) 21:02, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are problems with your two most recent edits: 1. Paradoxa Paradoxa is just a reissue of Live at Kid Airak Hall (the two article should be merged, anyway); 2. "Oumagatoki Part 3" first appeared on the 2nd tribute released by Vinyl-On-Demand in 2007, these were later reissued by four different labels in 2010. Generally Wikipedia discographies don't list reissues.

I don't mean to seem like I'm criticizing all your edits, but I've been editing this article for a couple years now, and I've tried to be accurate by using multiple sources. Of course, if you see a mistake you should fix it, but double check to make sure it really is a mistake. 96.18.196.159 (talk) 00:29, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge two articles[edit]

Could you merge the articles Paradoxa Paradoxa and Live at Kid Airak Hall?

After doing some research, I've decided that Paradoxa Paradoxa was only released once in the early '80s. If you look at the scans here it says "Paradoxa Paradoxa" in Japanese (パラドクサ・パラドクサ) and "Live at Kid Ailak Hall" in English. So people who couldn't read Japanese probably assumed it was called "Live at Kid Ailak Hall".

'80s discographies only list one cassette, as "Paradoxa Paradoxa", "Live at Kid Ailak", or "Paradoxa Paradoxa: Live at Kid Ailak". The Merzbox notes only list one issue in 1982, the discography in the Merzbook only lists one as "Paradoxa Paradoxa (formally known as 'Live at Kid Airak Hall')".

Thanks. 67.60.231.202 (talk) 21:33, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that I took a look at your recently created article Lop Lop-- The image greatly improves the article. However, I think the article seems to contain a few errors: the references in the article do not follow Wikipedia guidelines. There is a tutorial on formatting citations at Wikipedia:Referencing. It would be great if you could also add references to the related article Dolphin Sonar. Merzbow discography revert[edit]

I've reverted your recent edit. The collaborations were separate before being merge into the main headings to be cleaner and easier to read. The article in currently organized with headings for artist name, then by release type. Separating the collabs divides the Merzbow heading and doesn't save any space since the tables already have a notes column. 67.60.231.202 (talk) 07:20, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Collection Eras should redirect to Merzbox[edit]

Collection Era Vol. 1 and Collection Era Vol. 2 should redirect to the Merzbox page. They never existed outside of the Merzbox, they were compiled from the ten Collection tapes. Also Merzbox discs Solonoise, Expanded Music, Nil Vagina Tape Loops, Dying Mapa Tapes, Pornoises, Sadomasochismo/Lampinak, and Enclosure/Libido Economy are all compiled from multiple releases, and can't be trusted to reflect the originals. I would edit the Collection Era articles, but I don't have any info about the original tapes. 67.60.231.202 (talk) 07:33, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More information needed about File:Electric Sea.jpg[edit]

Hello, Pachon!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Electric Sea.jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Dying Mapa tapes[edit]

Nice work on the Dying Mapa pages, but there's a mistake. Non-free rationale for File:Wanted Man.jpg[edit]

Youth Inc. and Disk Union[edit]

Along with operation stores, Disk Union also distributes and manufactures many Japanese indie labels. I'm not sure that they distribute Youth Inc. though, but it doesn't really matter because the release description is the same on all the other stores, implying official label press release. Merzbow - OAT[edit]

Sometimes it can take a while for things to be added to Merzbow's site. I would assume that OAT is official since it was recorded and mixed by the group that put on the concert. Why don't you email Masami and see if it's official or not. Pmepepnoute (talk) 23:17, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the concern. Merzbow's site was updated quite recently in almost all areas (background changed, now with birds, and also releases and blog) yet none of those pages has yet to point out any information about OAT which kind of annoys me since he has posted info on all other releases of 2012 on his site by now (Duo and Kibako appear on both the blog and release page of the site). I dont think this qualifies as a reason to mail him being that he has never replied back to me, so i wont bother. --Pachon (talk) 09:09, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Hold Me Forever (In memory of my mom Nancy York Carroll) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No secondary sources, no notability per NALBUM. Sourcing includes minutes from a high school meeting, and while a memorial album can be touching, NOTMEMORIAL.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
