  • Mr. O'Brian,
While I do appreciate your additions to the List of western outlaws, my reversions to Franklin Leslie were to remove copyright material belonging to another website. As Wikipedia is often liable, both legally and ethicly, for copyright infringment I hope you understand why your additions as they stood had to have been removed. Your recent creation of Nashville Franklin Leslie contains that same material and will most likely have to be removed at some point in the future unless you are able to gain the authors permission. Sophocles[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to YouTube in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source.

Per WP:COPYRIGHT:
External sites can possibly violate copyright. Linking to copyrighted works is usually not a problem, as long as you have made a reasonable effort to determine that the page in question is not violating someone else's copyright. If it is, please do not link to the page. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of copyright infringement in the United States (Intellectual Reserve v. Utah Lighthouse Ministry). Also, linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work sheds a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors. If the site in question is making fair use of the material, linking is fine.

Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information.

Edits to Earp Vendetta Ride, Etc.[edit]

Would you please STOP making historical edits on the basis of "information" in I Married Wyatt Earp and other supposed writings by Sarah Marcus? That book is now known to be half-fabricated, with the parts you're using simply having been made up by Glenn Boyer, from a manuscript which does not, and never did, exist. The Cason manuscript exists, but Boyer made up the rest as good Western fiction, and has essentially admitted this. In any case, we don't write history based on a manuscript that somebody says they once had and have now lost. If you're using some other sources, cite them. Thanks! Speedy deletion of Matthew O'Brien[edit]

A tag has been placed on Matthew O'Brien requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Travistalk 03:50, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. List of Deadwood's Famous and Infamous listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect List of Deadwood's Famous and Infamous. Since you had some involvement with the List of Deadwood's Famous and Infamous redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. -- Tavix (talk) 01:02, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
