Stephen F. Teiser

Thanks for your quick work on Stephen F. Teiser. I see you are experienced with a range of articles, so I thought I'd ask what the procedures and expectations are about assessment.

This seems to me to be more than "Start": "An article that is developing, but which is quite incomplete. It might or might not cite adequate reliable sources."

I wouldn't be insulted by a "B" class: "The article is mostly complete and without major problems, but requires some further work to reach good article standards."

The standard problem with academics is finding biographical sources, but their personal lives are not usually what makes them notable. The emphasis is properly on their work. I could add more reviews, but I selected these to show the nature of Teiser's work but not the puffery. The goal was to be useful to people like my students if they want to know a little more about how Teiser's work fits into the development of the field.

Does it seem to you that the article is in fact "quite incomplete," rather than "mostly complete"? It is a little discouraging.

In any case, cheers and apologies for intruding.ch (talk) 05:14, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

@CWH: No problem. I reassessed the article as B-Class. Best wishes and thank you for your message. --Meno25 (talk) 07:09, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
Many thanks -- both for your patience and for all your good work!ch (talk) 16:11, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your rating of this bio. I look forward to your contributions to moving it beyond a "c" rating. Castlemate (talk) 12:28, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

@Castlemate: You're welcome. Actually, I was hesitant whether to assess it as B or C-class. Then I settled for the later. --Meno25 (talk) 12:32, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

If you can make it a B-class I would be very pleased. Arbitrary ratings such as these are truly dispiriting for contributors and so I really do hope that you can improve upon what has been done to date. It might be useful if you compared this bio to other Fijian Royal/nobles and then see how poor English language Wikipedia articlesin this area actually are. Castlemate (talk) 12:43, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

@Castlemate:  Done and thank you for your work. Best wishes. --Meno25 (talk) 13:12, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Sorry you seem to have misunderstood what I was saying. If the article is C-class then so be it but instead of standing in judgement I was suggesting that you might show how you could improve the work already done by improving the article. What can be written and referenced that improves the article? How does it compare to similar bios? If it isn't up to scratch please do something that improves it rather that adding pointless ratings that contribute little. Castlemate (talk) 13:21, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
