Message from User:Innaa placed on your user page

Are you a scammer ? It is criminal to first more or less steal private information and thereafter refuse to give it back, distribute it etc. You do not give any permission that this site can use your pages, pictures etc. Of course the owner has the right to delete whatever he/ she has in his box and published on this site. Ownership o the data etc has not changed. Perhaps something to think of here, also for you ? It will come a new day tomorrow. Perhaps you want to wake up and see it clearer than it was for you yesterday ? And what about a serious consent ? According to the police consents cannot be given through the net at all. Place_names_in_Irish

I was given to understand that Hawaii and Rhode Island were the same in Irish...I guess Picapica is fairly forceful in her beliefs. I was updating the above referenced article and found that these states had different names at S.A.M.. I put them in hidden comments. It's up to someone who knows better... O'Rothlain or Ó Rothlain?

A few questions for you...

• 1. Is the Proper wiki-way to take an anglacized name (O'Rothlain) and change it to it's gaelic (Ó Rothlain)? Please reference Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Ireland-related articles)
• 2. Where did you get your definition of the name? You said it meant "decendant of Rothlan." Firstly you eliminated the "i" in O'Rothlain. Secondly where did this definition come from?

Sinn Féin is the political wing of the I.R.A. in the same way that Herri Batasuna is the political wing of ETA. Ó Róithleán

Trust me on this, over nine out of any ten Irish surnames derive from a personal name of some sort, including nicknames. Smaller numbers are descriptive, occupational, but hardly any are derived from placenames. Having said that, I was myself looking for the original form of Rowland, and still have not satisfactorily come up with the original form. Seemingly a family from the lower classes of Gaelic society. Decimal separator

Hi Kwekubo, I was reading the article Decimal separator and noticed some countries with sizeable populations not listed in the sections ¨Dot countries¨ and ¨Comma countries¨ including Ghana. What are you doing to Irish Government Buildings? Government Buildings is a generic term that cannot be used because it is used in hundreds of countries. It will simply get shunted off of that page because it will be turned into a disamb page, and then someone is going to have have to go through all the links you've changed and change them all back again. Irish Government Buildings, the name the state uses for them internationally to avoid confusion, was used on WP, to avoid a disamb mess and broken links. VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. Dobedo

I deleted due to a lack of assertion of notability, and because it read as promotion spam, most notably with "Dobedo was NOT funded by advertising as this Wiki entry previously stated prior to revision. That was incorrect or at best incomplete information. Dobedo was funded by venture capitalists from its inception to its closure during the dotcom bust period around 2000. However, in the Swedish version of the site, ads were incorporated into the chat but that never happened in either the UK or German incarnations. In the UK, a deal was struck with MTV to provide the TV company with MTV-branded Dobedo chat rooms which led back from MTV to the Dobedo island but, unbelievably, no money ever exchanged hands. Dobedo gained nothing from the moneyless partnership and at the time many staff, particularly in the UK office which was known for being both the most radical and inventive branch of the company with its most senior editorial staff located in London, were at the time very angry at what they saw as the Swedish office going 'over their heads' and ignoring their advice about the deal." Arms of UCD

Kwekubo, the most recent information I had to hand was that the 1911 arms are the official arms of the university, they are used on parchments and that the 1940s arms have been dispensed with (some anon also though that they were "too much" for the article). Maybe I am wrong but that was the situation when they recently introduced "UCD Dublin" logos, which is surprisingly over a year ago now. Djegan 01:42, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

ONH & IRAs

Hi Kwekubo, I noticed you moved Óglaigh na hÉireann (nationalists) to Óglaigh na hÉireann (Continuity IRA splinter group). While I do agree that all the groups calling themselves ONH are nationalists, I also find Óglaigh na hÉireann (Continuity IRA splinter group) to be rather long-winded. Perhaps something shorter, like Óglaigh na hÉireann (paramilitary)? Something related to note: though all the other IRAs also use the name ONH from time to time, the Independent Monitoring Commission refers to only this group as ONH. What do you think? I.R.A. WikiProject?

Hi all, I'm rather new to the Wiki (just joined up a few days ago), but the whole WikiProject concept seems like an effective tool for gathering a group of people together to work on a specific subject. I'm primarily interested in contributing to areas related to Irish nationalism, and the Irish Republican Army, and I've noticed a few of you have quite a lot of involvement in the same area. So, I wonder if anyone would be interested in forming a WikiProject focusing on Irish Nationalism? Wikipeda:WikiProject Irish Republican Army seems like a good title to me! I changed it back, since I was a bit startled to see a picture of a breastfeeding baby on my userpage when I logged on this evening. There's nothing wrong with that picture, but keep in mind that 156 people have this userbox on their page, and they might not appreciate the change. The real question, Niko, is whether you know something I don't! The song's page at the official Eurovision website clearly states, "Copyright European Broadcasting Union 2007. All rights reserved." Honestly I found them in abundant links on the net.[1] Anybody who speaks Serbian can write the lyrics down by listening to the song. I did not copy them from Eurovision. You can find lyrics to almost any pop/rock song on the internet. That doesn't in itself mean that the songs are free of copyright, or that they are in the public domain; it probably means that the sites hosting the song are using it without permission. Explicit permission is required from the copyright holders in order for the song to be licensed under the GFDL - this is understandable, as it would mean anyone could make use of the song for any purpose without restriction. --Kwekubo 00:38, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

So, printed lyrics are copyrighted? I thought only within the context of a (any) song they were. Is this correct? I understand how lyrics may be abused, but in an encyclopedia? Maybe this particular subject should be clarified in WP:C, especially given their abundant existence in the web (obviously illegally too)? BTW I was triggered to insert them in molitva by a previous version of the article on Sarbel's Yassou Maria which I happened to see and contained the lyrics; only to be reverted later without me noticing it. The Master

Hello Kwekubo. I am again deleting a part of my own contrib on European Youth Parliament. There are several reasons for that. One of them is that the original version of my draft (that you re-established) is a lot less objective than the later version, giving only negative details about the organisation. One other reason is that I realised that there were inaccuracies in my relating of the events that happenned back then. I need time to find out what exactly happenned, and to make a new draft with a more objective and accurate description of the events. In the meanwhile, I do not want to leave these inaccuracies on, which is why I shortened the paragraph. SJA Logo

While I now understand the reson for your persistent reversion of my edits to include the SJA logo, I dislike the method you used to get your point across. Reverting is usually only used to get rid of vandalism - if you disagree with something, it is usual just to edit it and remove it, or even revert it but state it as a removal in the comment. Constant reverting results in edit wars, and also makes the other contributor look like a vandal. Better still, fully explain your reason for deletion in the comments first time round - I actually thought that the page I was editing was the only SJA page here, as it's illogical to have it split up as it is. OK, sorry for the hassel. I just find the term 'revert' rather grating, as appart from all else I'm sure I've read somewhere that it should be used only for 'negative' things, like vandalism. WikiProject Rugby union national team Improvement Drive

For the 2007 Rugby World Cup WikiProject Rugby union is launching an Improvement Drive for national rugby union teams; specifically those participating in the Rugby World Cup.

We need your help! Here is what you can do:

• Adopt a national rugby union team article and collaborate with other members to improve it.
• Find, create and upload free images that will help improve these articles.
• Copy-edit, reference, and expand articles when and where you can.
• Promote the project and encourage others to join.

The World Cup is fast approaching and these articles are going to get a lot more hits during the tournament. It would be great if we could have them at a high standard!

Hi, Kwekubo. I've no strong objection to your reverting Drong Átha Cliath to Drong Áṫa Cliaṫ at Irish Defence Forces cap badge. Looks like we have a spree of en Wikipedia names being created at ga -- odd.
