The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bashan 125R (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Copying from user page

Hello. I recently noticed that you have "created" the page List of cricket grounds in New Zealand, which you appear to have copied directly from a user page of mine, which was created 33 minutes prior to your "creating" this new page. Having a look at your contributions, you appear to have not contributed any other articles on cricket, and the page that you obviously cut and pasted from my user page was both incomplete and incorrect. I have updated the page to its correct state, however, I am wondering why you have done this, what are your motives behind this in claiming credit for other people's work. Please respond to this. Bozzio (talk) 03:25, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

  • Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. I am not sure if this is the best way to communicate with you as you appear to be a native speaker of Latvian. Bozzio (talk) 03:34, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of cricket grounds in New Zealand requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyright-violation

It seems you get away with it this time, but this crap is not cool; had the person whose userspace you copied from not given explicit ex-post-facto permission, you would've been in trouble for infringement of rights. Besides, this kind of behavior is unbelievably rude. Don't do it again. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 04:13, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2010–11 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 7, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Wikipedia:Templates with red links/068. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 20:32, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Musiqq

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Musiqq requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Kamkek (talk) 22:41, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:51, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Userspace drafts

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Laura Igaune. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, without the risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. VQuakr (talk) 05:23, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at Laura Igaune

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Laura Igaune, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:30, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Diacritics

Do not rename/move articles to use diacritics in the spelling of the person's name, as you did at Ronalds Kenins, unless you are able to demonstrate, with reliable and verifiable sources, that such form of spelling is the most commonly used form. In the case of Ronalds Kenins, none of the sources in the article support your move/rename. Dolovis (talk) 22:50, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

His name should be spelled like Ronalds Ķēniņš (in Latvian there are diacritics ar there isn't such form as Kenins, only Ķēniņš). Some sources: Latvian Hockey Federation, at the bottom of the table.--Edgars2007 (Talk/Contributions) 13:29, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
This is the English Wikipedia, and according to the policy of WP:COMMONNAME, Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it instead uses the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources. This includes usage in the sources used as references for the article. Dolovis (talk) 13:36, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Bubba Starling requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. TrulyBlue (talk) 18:31, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Bubba Starling

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Bubba Starling. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2011 Major League Baseball Draft - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. – Muboshgu (talk) 13:13, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

The article Bubba Starling has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

CSD A10 contested with no reason given. He is an unremarkable individual (first round picks in MLB are far from inherently notable) and meets A10 criteria.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:41, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

MLB

Hi there! I'll be happy to help you out with this. I'm not sure what players might already have articles on the Latvian Wikipedia, so I'll just start at the top.

All-time Greats: Babe Ruth, Cy Young, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson, Barry Bonds, Walter Johnson Current Greats: Albert Pujols, Roy Halladay, Joe Mauer, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Alex Rodriguez

That should be a good starting point. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help! -Dewelar (talk) 14:37, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

NFL

The NFL Network recently had a series on the top 100 all-time players; the top 10 were Jerry Rice, Jim Brown, Lawrence Taylor, Joe Montana, Walter Payton, Johnny Unitas, Reggie White, Peyton Manning, Don Hutson, and Dick Butkus. They would be a good starting point. Only Manning is a current player, however. If you want more active players, I would suggest Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Ray Lewis, and Adrian Peterson. I appreciate your idea and wish you good luck with it. Giants2008 (27 and counting) 16:38, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Edgars2007, I remember you coming to WT:CRIC to ask about cricketers to include on the Latvian wiki. Would you also consider including English county teams like Lancashire County Cricket Club, Somerset County Cricket Club and Hampshire County Cricket Club on there? Sorry, but teams don't look interesting to me :( But you could tell me some 10 current criceters to write about in Latvian wiki (at the moment we have Sachin Tendulkar i don't have much time for such sports at the moment).--Edgars2007 (Talk/Contributions) 14:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
May be down the line do them! Donald Bradman, Muttiah Muralitharan, Paul Collingwood, Clem Hill, Bart King, Bill O'Reilly, Jack Hobbs, Wilfred Rhodes, W.G. Grace and George Headley are my ten favourites on here - at least 8 of them are featured articles. I would say people like Brian Lara, Shane Warne or Ian Botham, but I don't think their articles are particularly well written. And one I forgot to mention, Kevin Pietersen - so that's 11! Altered speedy deletion rationale: A Lixiying

Hello Edgars2007, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted A Lixiying, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Joseph Fox 10:54, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
