Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Shlomo-Artzi-Moon.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Shlomo-Artzi-Moon.jpg. In need of mentorship

Hi,

I saw your name over at WP:ADOPT.

I need the advice of an experienced Wikipedian.

I'm currently coordinating development of Wikipedia's Outline of knowledge, which has grown to around 500 pages, and I am having trouble recruiting editors to help build and improve it. I need some mentorship here.

I also need advice on the guidelines I've been writing for the Outline of Knowledge at User:The Transhumanist/Outline of knowledge. Is it good enough? Did I miss anything important?

My latest effort to recruit help on the outlines is a proposal for a contest between all of the country WikiProjects on Wikipedia (about 200 of them). Each country has an outline devoted to it, and so I figured these fall within the scope of the corresponding WikiProjects. This will be a very big event, and I'm not sure I'm going about it in the best way.

So you see, I've taken on a lot, and I need as much advice as I can get.

I look forward to your reply on my talk page.

The Transhumanist 19:54, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

I am not that good at recruiting people and besides i am terribly busy IRL lately.
I can give you this advice, though: Conversations should be held on the talk page on which they started. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 21:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Metro de Barcelona

Bones Amir,

--Vilar 16:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Interwiki synchronization

Hello! Please, take a look at next template Template:Iwiki-conflict. I suggest using it for all pages involved in interwiki conflict. I think in this way those conflict can attract attention of more Wikipedia users. Also it will be useful to translate template to as many languages as can to using it in all wikies. What do you think about it? DixonD (talk) 19:23, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Contact question

Hello,

No problem editing it, I've been watching some Soviet sci-fi films recently and so have been in the mood to read over the entries for them here in Wikipedia. Sadly I'm not quite sure what good resources would be for looking up American films in the USSR. I wish I could help, it'd be something I'd be interested to see also! Kuralyov (talk) 22:30, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey. Just a heads-up. I am back from my wikibreak. While I was gone, I had a changed mind-set about editing wikipedia. But as to avoid space on your talk page with unnecessary talk, you can read my "im back" message on my page. But I figured my adopter (if in fact you still are) would like to know his adoptee has returned and ready for round two. ⊥m93 talk. 03:10, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Ill Bethisad

Hi Amir, thank you for removing the notability tag from Slovianski. For obvious reasons I didn't want to do that myself.
I've been meaning to ask you this for a few weeks now, and this is a moment as good as any, I think. We've stumbled upon each other at several occasions during the last few years and although we haven't always agreed, I've come to appreciate you greatly for the fact that you always take the effort to explain your actions thoroughly, to talk things over with anybody who desires so, and also for your willingness to change your point of view in the light of new facts. And that's why I'd like to ask you for your opinion. A few weeks ago, almost all articles about Ill Bethisad in other language editions of wikipedia were suddenly speedily deleted. Without any discussion, merely on the basis of the old AfD here at wp.en (which took place almost two years ago). This prompted me to start looking for references, and I found several things, which I have added here. So my request to you is this: would you mind taking a look and tell me your opinion? Would this at last make the subject just notable enough to have it aboard? Mind, this doesn't go for the article itself; it's not me who wrote it and frankly, I'd have done it a tad differently. For example, this whole QSS/QAA section should IMO go, not only because of the OR, but also because it is irrelevant. The rest will have to be sourced properly, but that is a different story. Best regards, —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 12:12, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

"Świat, gdzie Polska nie jest Polską" and "Nowa Mowa" seem convincing. The others either seem not directly related, or are not accessible online or are in languages that i don't know - which doesn't mean that they are bad.
"Świat, gdzie Polska nie jest Polską" alone would be nearly enough, though, provided that the article Interia is correct and it is indeed one of the most popular portals in Poland. The coverage certainly seems non-trivial. Only nearly enough, because WP:WEB requires coverage in multiple sources, which makes perfect sense; But if you claim that the other sources are relevant, i'll believe that. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 12:54, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for you quick reply! Yes, Interia.pl is one of the three big internet portals in Poland (along with Onet.pl and Wirtualna Polska. Oh, see this). And as far as I remember (it has been a while since I read it) the information is indeed correct. Given this, what would be the best way to go? Request undeletion and promise to add the sources? Or simply place a new article, with sources and references this time? Thanks a lot! Cheers, —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 13:01, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Be bold - create a new article with the sources. You may put a comment on the talk page. I did that on Katamine, for example. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 13:18, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Alright, I'll do that. Thank you again! —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 13:40, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
