I'm not sure that i can help much with the content, as i don't know anything about finance, but i'll try to check the formatting. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:14, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Siberian

Hi Amir! I saw you deleted an article titled Siberian language three days ago. I wouldn't have noticed if a link to that long ago deleted article was still on my watchlist. I'm not questioning that decision or something (far from that!), but in this case, I'm just very, very curious. Would it be possible for you to show me the deleted text? Thanks in advance! Cheers, —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 11:01, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Only one sentence: "The artificial language based on siberian dialects of Russian language."
Oh, Siberian. I was possibly the most avid supporter of that idea. It could be nice, but it turned into a big embarrassment. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! Yes, I liked the idea too. And the language itself was well-made, in my opinion. But I agree, one big embarrassment. Although, sometimes I wonder if all the fuss about it in itself wouldn't warrant a little article about it (as a very successful hoax, I mean). Cheers, —IJzeren Jan Uszkiełtu? 11:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Some of the texts written in that language were very pleasant to read. And some of the things Zolotaryov wrote sounded very clever. Some of them actually were clever. Some others were terribly disgusting.
One can easily find reliable sources that would warrant writing an article about that fuss, but if you ask me, i wouldn't write it per Wikipedia:Deny recognition. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:27, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

Hello Amir,

The wiki-adoption page of active adopters said that you were looking to adopt and I thought it might be fun and help me on my way through wikipedia to have someone there to help me. --Robbie0513 (talk) 18:36, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Robbie,
I'll gladly adopt you, although i am quite busy lately and can't promise to be a very active adopter. However, you can ask me anything you like about editing, policies, searching for information in Wikipedia etc. I can promise to give patient and detailed answers to any question you'll have. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 19:16, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
I was actually wondering how to create user subpages. Could you please explain this? --Robbie0513 (talk) 00:30, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Enter this in the search box on the left: User:Robbie0513/Subpage name. (Replace Subpage name with the name you want.) Then click "Start the User:Robbie0513/Subpage name".
You can find full documentation about subpages here: Wikipedia:Subpages.
If you have any more problems, feel free to contact me. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 10:21, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Ramat Hovav

Thanks, I'm kicking myself now, I should have known that one! My Hebrew's a bit rusty!

Article deletion

Hi Amir! After you nominated the article on Shmuel Yerushalmi for deletion, I remembered another similar article I prodded a while ago but wasn't sure about an AfD. The article is Doron Veltzer. Please let me know what you think, and maybe you or me will start an AfD for it as well. Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 21:45, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

That article refers to two printed sources. I don't have access to them, but i don't have a reason to think that they are unreliable either. If he indeed has 60 pages dedicated to him in a book published by Am Oved, then he is certainly notable.
If you think that these sources are unreliable, start an AfD. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 02:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Hebrew Israeli highway articles

Cross-posted to Amire80, Ynhockey and Noaa

I have three article drafts on my Hebrew Wikipedia userpage. The corresponding English articles are Route 959 (Israel), Route 977 (Israel) and Route 978 (Israel). Can you ask around an see if anyone wants to get these up to article quality? They were deleted before for lack of notability, and I don't want to work on them anymore, but they might be worth saving. Thank you. Yechiel (Shalom) 06:00, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Articles needing copy edit :)

Hello wikignome! This is an invitation for you to join a brand-new WikiProject that aims to improve the articles tagged for copy edit. This is pretty important to Wikipedia because there are now over 4,000 such articles, some of which need quite a bit of help. We think your wikignomish abilities would come in useful, so if you're interested, sign up at the project page!

Roma/Romani people

Hi! I saw that you've made some disambiguations regarding the word Roma, some of them related to Roma as an etnonym for the Romani people. I have to tell you that the correct use of the word Roma in this case is a matter of discussion. Strictly speaking only the Eastern Europe branch of the Romani people call themselfs Roma. Even more wrong is "Roma people" since Roma is the noun, not the adjective. There is a RFC on this matter here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Romani_language#Request_for_Comment:_Romani.2C_Romany.2C_Roma

You might wanna take a look! Best regards! AKoan (talk) 08:45, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing my little contributions!
I don't have an opinion about the right name for the people. My fixes are essentially technical. The word "Roma" has a lot of meanings - the Romani people, the city of Rome, the Indian actress, several films, etc. and i make sure that links point to the right article and not to the disambiguation page. You can read an explanation about what i do here: Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:45, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank You & Follow Up Questions

Amir, Thanks for your response. One other question. Trying to capitalize "Money" in the title Revolution money, and to delete the other "Revolution Money" page. Can you please advise how this can be done? Best, Sharon Nieuwenhuis (talk) 14:06, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Adopt

Hello Amir. I am not necessarilly new, but I was taking a look at the WP:ADOPT page and saw your name. I looked at your description on that page and noticed that you were also an admin which is what I wanted in an adopter. Like I stated before; I am not necessarily new but, I was interested in being adopted. Are you still open to adopting? If possible please write me back on my talk page. Thanks and Happy Editing Tm93 (TALK) 00:12, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello,
I am open for adoption. Please feel free to ask me for any help you want.
One important request: I like to have conversations grouped on one talk page. Otherwise it's very hard to follow them. This is the usual practice on Wikipedia. To follow discussions, use the Watchlist. Thanks for understanding. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 07:31, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok so does this mean you've adopted me?
Also the "please reply on my talk page" is only my sig. You can continue to reply on your talk page. I will add this page to my watchlist so that I know when you've replied. But does this mean that you've adopted me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tm93 (talkcontribs) 08:00, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, consider yourself adopted.
If "please reply on my talk page" is a part of your sig, then you should change it. This signature goes against the good and common practice of replying on the same talkpage where the conversation started. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 08:06, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok I will change my signature right now. With that said... how do I change the color of normal text? I know how to change my signature I was only wondering how to change the color of any text. Thanks and Happy Editing Tm93 TALK 18:49, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

It's supposed to be the same as with signatures: use HTML. See here for details: Help:HTML in wikitext. Usually it's something like <span style="color:red">red</span>.
I almost never use it, because i mostly edit article text where color is almost never needed. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 19:31, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank You. However, I probably should have rephrased my question. Yes I would like to learn how to change the color of text (which you already taught me), but how do I change the color of a wikilink or an internal link? Thanks and Happy Editing Tm93 TALK 20:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry - i can't help with this much, as this is not something very useful for editing articles, which i do most of the time.
You can try talking to the guys here: Wikipedia:User Page Design Center, they are the masters of design bells-and-whistles. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 07:54, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Thank you. That helped alot. OK I will go back to editing articles and ask you a question if I have one. Thank you once again. Thanks and Happy Editing Tm93 TALK 18:42, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Silesian

Hi, that's right, I totally understand your point. This edition: [1] introduces the wrong data. I will start to remove it systematically from all the Wikipedias or put the template for verifying the sources. And that's all because when preparing a shortened version of articles on en and szl wiki to be translated, I didn't notice that there are no sources. Well, we should wait to the next Census of Poland, I suppose... Greetings, Timpul my talk 14:49, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 14:52, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
