CONLANGS

So, you like conlangs. Have you ever tried to create one? MR.CRO95 (talk) 09:19, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Not really. I sometimes imagine something like Lojban, but without any words - only with numbers. It would be a language for computers, not for people.
The trouble is that i am too busy doing other interesting things instead of working on this. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 14:21, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
OK. I am creating a language, and it's almost complete. It's called Juranian. -- MR.CRO95 (talk) 14:26, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption - Arphibagon

Will you adopt me. My page has an adoption link so you can adopt me there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arphibagon (talkcontribs) 19:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
I shall gladly help you with anything.
I checked your edits. If you have anything to write about "quintorial", then it must be based on reliable sources. Please read Wikipedia:No original research - the core Wikipedia policy on this matter. To put it short - if you're the only person who wrote about quintorials, then it shouldn't be on Wikipedia. If information about them was already published in reliable sources, then fell free to write about it, but provide a reference to the sources. If you wrote a paper about it yourself, then you can use it as a source, if it was published in a reliable publication, such as a scientific journal. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 07:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption - Ezrah 001

I have a recovered my son from Autism. So that alone is a controversial statement. I would like to get information about Autism to be more up to date on Wikipedia and especially some treatments that are listed as options updated. The articles are very out of date especially as a client having experiences them. So I have a lot of POV and personal experience but have meet with very little success converting this information to fact and into articles.

So I need coaching on how to get fact and remove some of the fiction from Wiki around Autism and Autism treatment.

Warm regards, Ezrah 001 (talk) 22:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
I'll gladly assist you with anything. Feel free to ask me for absolutely any help.
Regarding your particular question about autism: Personal experience may help you with your editing, but it is not enough. You need to prove that the facts you insert are correct and verifiable by other Wikipedia editors, by providing reliable sources. Please read Wikipedia:Verifiability - the core Wikipedia content policy on this matter. If you don't understand anything there, ask me. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 07:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Admir,

Thank you much, I will review the section you mentioned. Once I have done that I would like to put up some information I have on studies and what is in some current articles for some guidence from you. Thanks again, I very much appreciate your help. Ezrah 001 (talk) 22:21, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Amir, I have found myself in the middle of a debate my first time out as a contributor. I am wondering if you could review a discussion threat and help me find a middle ground. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son-Rise Ezrah 001 (talk) 23:53, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption - Fromuswithlove

Hi Amire80,

I am an absolute newby to this and would like to know if you would perhaps be able to help me. Are we allowed to have information on charity work done almost like a newsletter from a personal account. I live in South Africa and currently there are amazing projects that are happening here and would like to have this information and get discussions going about this topic, as well as peoples thoughts etc

Thank you

--Fromuswithlove (talk) 09:12, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello.
All information in Wikipedia must be referenced to published reliable sources. Private emails are not published, which is enough to make them unusable as reliable sources. If this charity work has been covered at least in newspapers, then it can be covered in Wikipedia in an encyclopedic form.
Please read Wikipedia:Reliable sources to get an idea of what is considered a reliable source. If you don't understand anything or have any more questions, feel free to ask me. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:23, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

A-classs vs Good Article

Hey Amir. I was just wondering something. Which article is better: one that has received an A-class on quality or a Good Article? Thanks, Idontknow610TM 21:29, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

According to Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment, A is better than Good. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 10:27, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Thx. Idontknow610TM 18:50, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi Amir, my name is KALMANI & I need your help to do the right thing.

I'm Kalmani, I'm having problems with people changing my comments on discussion pages of an article & even putting my real name on the discussion page. Since I'm put in a predicament where if I try to correct anything they bully me in saying in I would be banned & revert back to their saying like a wikipedia mafia...So they know I'm new in editing but I would like to learn & some help to fight back to do whats right. I don't know what to do. Please adopt me. The article i was helping out with is biased & controlled but if you can please help me out. I would be very grateful & in debt to you. Thank You for your time sir. KALMANI (talk) 09:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Amire80: you have been invited to participate in Wiki Amazing Race, a project by Shapiros10. If you want to participate, sign your name under the "teams" section. I will divide up groups. If you aren't familiar, read up on The Amazing Race. The "tasks" will be trivia. Thank you! Shapiros10WuzHere 23:50, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching

Amir-would you possibly be my admin coach? That would be awesome. I have 759 edits now, and will probably go for it towards the end of May. Shapiros10WuzHere 20:26, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

You should probably ask someone who is more of a full-time admin. Lately i am terrbily busy at work and at my musical endeavors and i hardly have time to edit here, let alone do admin work. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 06:06, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

The Kalmani issue

I think that Asm ccc is Kalmani's sock. They both have "defend the truth" on their userpages, and Asm ccc joined in on an edit war between Kalmani and Chaldean. How do you request checkuser? Shapiros10WuzHere 20:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, i thought i replied about that. Where did it disappear?
You don't request a checkuser. Read Wikipedia:Sock puppetry and Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets and take a look at a few cases. To open a suspected sockpuppetry case, you need not only to claim that two accounts were used by the same person, but to explain what damage did it do to Wikipedia. Having a sock is not forbidden; doing damage to Wikipedia is forbidden. A checkuser may be requested only after discussion about a suspected puppeteer showed that the suspicion is reasonable and that significant damage has been done and may be done in the future.
In this case i only saw a minor edit war.
Also, it's very, very, very important to assume good faith in all things you do in Wikipedia but even more so in sock puppetry issues. I cannot emphasize this enough: It is VERY sensitive. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 06:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

Would you be willing to adopt me? Cheers, Razorflame 15:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

OK, but why do you want it? You seem to be quite experienced... --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 15:36, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I am quite experienced, however, I am not experienced in the ways of the English Wikipedia. I need help to be able to acquiesce to the ways of the English Wikipedia. I don't know much of the rules and guidelines and I also would like administrator coaching. Cheers, Razorflame 18:21, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
About English Wikipedia - feel free to ask me for any help. Are you familiar with any other Wikipedia?
About administrator coaching - you may ask me questions, but i'm rather busy lately to be a full time coach. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 19:02, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I am familiar with the Simple English Wikipedia, where I have 18,300 edits :) Razorflame 19:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption - Rohit Reddy

Will you please adopt me? Rohit Reddy (talk) 13:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, gladly.
Feel free to ask me anything about Wikipedia.
Welcome! --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 13:28, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Translators from Catalan

Shalom!

Yes, when Wikipedia works, it usually works really well!

I have a slight concern that we will end up with multiple categories of translators, although it's valuable to be able to distinguish between Catalan translators, translators into Catalan, translators from Catalan. It's just that there are going to be some talented individuals who will feature in five or six of those categories.

Personally, I have an enthusiasm for people who work in the less well-known languages. The article I categorised was an Irish poet who has written in Irish and translated from Gallico-Portuguese and Friul as well as Catalan; I recently was delighted to find another Irish poet, a distant relative of Napoleon Bonaparte, who wrote poetry in Provençal.

Hebrew

Hi, Amire80, i found you on embassy page. So, you really know Hebrew. I need your help. I want to get a work done, but i dunno Hebrew, which is frustrated, i want to translate this page, but i can't found the suitable tools to do it. If you can help me, is great. Thanks! --Aleenf1 06:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
It's a description of rules for signing up for the Israeli version of the Amazing Race. Do you need every little detail there? Or is there something in particular that you care about? --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 07:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, i need every little detail there to create an article, include prize money, rules, deadline for applying the race, when interview, when filming start. Just a summary, if you can help, much appreciated. Thanks again. --Aleenf1 10:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Nahraana didn't have anything to do all day

Hi Amir,

On Friday I got my last two wisdom teeth out, and so yesterday and today I had to avoid talking and moving around, so why not spend the day on Wikipedia? :o))

Look:

Later today I will look carefully at the Hebrew link that told me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nahraana (talkcontribs) 17:48, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

I recently got a free Britannica account. Britannica is not bad, but it doesn't have any of those articles :)
You're doing a great job.
Congratulations on having your wisdom teeth removed - i am already done with mine :) --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 04:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
