Raised in Shropshire, England, I am a B.A. (Hons) graduate in French, also CELTA-qualified as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and am an aspiring novelist and experienced amateur songwriter.

My interests are diverse, including politics, philosophy, historical astrological texts, music, and foreign people and cultures.

I enjoy racquet sports, and my main interest as a wikipedia editor so far has been professional tennis. Unfortunately I have a lot of home responsibilities and my time is generally too limited to contribute regularly week in, week out, so I might not post a thing for several months, but I take opportunities I get when they arise.

I originally created the pages for Liu Nan-Nan, Yuan Meng, Sun Shengnan, Vesna Manasieva, Anna Lapushchenkova and Evgeniya Rodina. I have also worked heavily on the List of female tennis players, and the individual pages for Li Na, Jarmila Gajdosova, Zheng Jie, Peng Shuai, Sun Tiantian, Yan Zi, Elena Vesnina, Alisa Kleybanova, and Ekaterina Makarova. (Some of these need updating.) I have so far restricted my major efforts almost entirely to the WTA players of just two nations, China and Russia (Gajdosova being the one exception), because I knew I would not have the time to do justice to the articles of a greater number than this, and have left the highest-ranked players entirely to other editors since they were already receiving plenty of attention. But I also make occasional minor edits to other tennis-related player pages.

Outside tennis, I also originated and then worked heavily on the page for the 1990 Bishop's Castle earthquake.
