My name is Samuel (officially Sam, but if you call me Samuel I will respond a lot quicker.) Chacko, of Friendswood, TX USA. Family name is പകലൊമററം in Malayalam or Pakalomattam in English, or പകലൊമട്ട‍ത്തില്‍ (Pakalomattathil), or പകലൊമട്ട‍ത്ത് (Pakalomattathu) is also correct. I think our family name means, "House of Day" or "House of Daytime", if I had to translate it into American English. Can you imagine me as being named "Samuel Pakalomattam"? Maybe Samuel Day? (Yes, I know there is one person surnamed Pakalomattam in CT.)

I suppose, Chief Justice William Renquist's family was similar to ours: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Rehnquist#Family_life They changed their surname, and neither I or any of my father's four brother's sons or grandsons have our family name as a first, middle, nor last name. We actually have more then five different surnames, and among my uncle Varughese's six son's children, I think there is at least six different surnames. Can you imagine that, six brother's children go to the same school, but all have different surnames!
