ACTIVE SLAUGHTER - LONDON, ANARCHO, VEGAN PUNK ROCK BAND

File:Active.gif

Active Slaughter formed in 2002 by Jake And JJ. Straight away they drafted in Trev on drums (former Bug Central, X-creats and Intensive care member) and Joe (Intensive care). Active Slaughter formed with a view of bringing Anarcho Punk back into Punk due to a lack of Anarcho bands at the time. After a while Joe left and they drafted in Goz (too many bands to mention!). Then after a while Goz left and they drafted in their current bass player Jamie.

As well as playing many benefit gigs, it was Active Slaughter's intention to put on as many benefit gigs as they could in London, and they have done since 2002 and still continue to do so. Anarcho punk used to be about having great bands play benefit gigs and raise money for various grassroots campaigns but sadly there is still not enough of this - too many egos and too many rock stars. But Active Slaughter hope by working hard all the time putting on benefit gigs they can at least contribute to the causes and maybe influence others into doing the same.

To date, Active Slaughter have put out an ep "Smash HLS" in 2002 and an album "Ave A Butchers" in 2002. There were recent police raids (animal rights activism) on the home of one of the members of Active Slaughter a lot of cds were taken by the police for evidence. Because of this, Active Slaughter plan to re-release Ave A Butchers. As well as all the original tracks, there will be added un-released tracks recorded between 2003-2005

A new album was recorded in the summer of 2008. The name of the Album is 4t2ude. The album has 12 new tracks on it and is a massive improvement lyrically and musically since the last album 6 years ago. The album is set to be released later on in the year on CD with a 12 page colour booklet. The album will also be released on the internet also. A boolet will be able to be downloaded with the tracks. Once up online to download the album you must donate £4 to a choice of four charities. Once donated to one of these charities it will allow you to download the album. This will all be sorted hopefull by the end of the year.
