Kamran Aziz[edit]

  • ... that Kamran Aziz is the first Turkish Cypriot female composer as well as the first Turkish Cypriot female pharmacist? Source: [1] "Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nin ilk kadın bestecisi de olan Kamran Aziz’in eserleri" = "the works of Kamran Aziz, who is the first female composer of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus..." [2] "Bu arada, rahatsızlığından dolayı törende hazır bulunmayan ilk Kıbrıslı Türk kadın eczacı Kamran Aziz'e..." "Meanwhile, Kamran Aziz, the first Turkish Cypriot female pharmacist, who could not attend the ceremony due to illness..."
    • ALT1:... that Kamran Aziz reshaped the musical taste of Turkish Cypriots as their first female composer and co-founded the Turkish Cypriot Union of Pharmacists as their first female pharmacist? Source: In addition to the two above; p.79 "This in itself was a revolution in terms of shaping the musical taste of the Turkish-Cypriot community..." [3] "Kurucu Eczacılar:(1959) 1-Mehmet Münir İzzet 2-Mustafa Hüsnü 3-Kamer H.Gönül 4-Kemal Feridun 5-Kâmran Aziz..." "Kurucu Eczacılar" = "Founding pharmacists"

  • The article is new, and long enough. It is neutral, and cites sources with inline citations. No copyright problems detected even in foreign language (Turkish) sources -Reviewer's mother tongue is Turkish-. Hook (original) is well-formated, and its length is under limit. It is interesting, and its fact is accurate and cited inline. QPQ was done. AGF. Good to go. CeeGee 17:57, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Coming to promote this, I checked the hook source (#8) and it seemed to me that Kamran Aziz was one of the first batch of female pharmacists rather than THE first (Kamer Yusuf and Ayşe Dana were also mentioned). @CeeGee: Could you check this? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:54, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Thank you for your attention. Ref #8 says "İlk kadın eczacılarımız 1944 yılında Kıbrıs Hükümeti Özel Eczacılık Eğitimi mezun olan Ayşe Dana ve Kamran Aziz olmuş, yine1945 yılında ise ilk eczaneyi açan kadın eczacı ise Kamer Yusuf olmuştur." (Google translated:Our first women pharmacists were Ayşe Dana and Kamran Aziz who graduated from Private Government Pharmacy Education in Cyprus in 1944 and Kamer Yusuf became the woman pharmacist who opened the first pharmacy in 1945.) The hook is supported by this reference. Please comment. CeeGee 11:04, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
  • @CeeGee: The hook states "the first Turkish Cypriot female pharmacist" but, as your translation shows, this fact is untrue because another female student graduated at the same time. Nor was she the first to set up a pharmacy as Kamer Yusuf did this in 1945, two years earlier than her 1947 pharmacy. The hook needs to be rephrased. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:54, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
  • OK! I see the point and agree with rewording of the hook. I guess someone can do it. I will be ready to review the new ALT-hook if I am allowed. CeeGee 13:51, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
  • @GGT: How about
  • @CeeGee: If you approve of ALT1, could you give it a formal tick? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:21, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Sure. Thanks for your contribution. I was waiting for the agreement of the nominator upon your request. I approve ALT2 in AGF. CeeGee 08:08, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Apologies for the delay, had a couple of busy days. I am totally fine with ALT2. GGT (talk) 16:44, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
