  • The above nomination may imply that al-Hadi himself abandoned the leadership of the Shia community which is not correct. Perhaps the following is a more accurate alternative: ALT1: ... that the restricted life of the Shia Imam Ali al-Hadi under Abbasid surveillance ended the Imams' direct leadership of the Shia community?
