  • Article is new enough and long enough. Hook fact accepted in good faith to foreign language source. However, the article uses only two references, only one of which appears to be reliable. The temple.dinamalar.com website appears to be a user generated website with no editorial controls. It should be removed entirely from the article as an unreliable source. All that remains would be the article from Maalaimalar: Tamil News; which is fine as a news source. What's sorely lacking here is any reference works from a reliable publisher with a more academic look at the temple. There really needs to be some better references added to the article to pass WP:DYKCITE.4meter4 (talk) 00:37, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
4meter4, temple.dinamalar.com is a temple-centric website by Dinamalar, not user-generated. The original website is in Tamil language. Maalai Malar and Dinamalar are both established news houses. I have also added the Tamil Times of India version reference.Redtigerxyz Talk 05:47, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Hmmm... There's no attributed author. It looks more like a business listing. I'm not sure that this would constitute an independent reference or not. It would be helpful to know whether this was an independently put together listing, or whether the news service was paid to host these pages by participating temples. Is there some place where the website is explained in terms of editorial process/controls over these temple pages? 4meter4 (talk) 06:01, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
4meter4, https://temple.dinamalar.com/ - the main website is in Tamil, is very active with news items on temples. Dinamalar also publishes a Tamil temple-centric weekly magazine (Anmega Malar) https://ipaper.dinamalar.com/#anmegamalar, which is also linked in the main Tamil site. The article is also available on https://temple.dinamalar.com/new.php?id=1379, the Tamil site. I have added other Kannada and Hindi references.Redtigerxyz Talk 12:00, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Ok. Assuming good faith on the foreign language sources added by Redtigerxyz. Photo appears to have the proper license and may be used. This hook can be promoted.4meter4 (talk) 05:05, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
  • I have tagged a section of the article for unencyclopedic tone, which will need to be fixed before a DYK appearance. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 14:40, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Thanks 4meter4. I have contacted User_talk:AirshipJungleman29#Akshayapureeswarar_Temple. Not sure how to tackle the tag. IMHO, the legend section is written similarly for other Hinduism articles. I am okay if the section is removed for the DYK and we can work on the section in due courseof time.Redtigerxyz Talk 03:47, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
I cleaned up the text to give it better encyclopedic tone and distance. The issue is resolved.4meter4 (talk) 15:54, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
