Title[edit]

'Anshi' is a strange thing to put in brackets, especially since An and Shi are separate surnames. Even 'Great Yan' might be a better choice. Kayau Voting IS evil 09:19, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps. I am open to alternatives. I do not think "Great Yan" is appropriate, however; "great" ('da', 大) is not an unique identifier among Chinese states at all, as virtually all Chinese states would have referred themselves as "great" at one point or another. Indeed, one article I plan to expand relatively soon, Yan (Five Dynasties), was referred to as "Great Yan" as well (at times sarcastically), as were the Yan states of the Murong clan. --Nlu (talk) 15:15, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Great Yan may not be the best of alternatives. In fact, I was thinking that the articles itself could be merged into An Shi rebellion, as this 'dynasty' really belongs to Tang. Kayau Voting IS evil 06:17, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(10 years later!) Why is "An–Shi" in the title of this article, yet the term "An-Shi" is explained nowhere in the text of the current version of this article? Please fix this situation! 173.88.246.138 (talk) 03:16, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
