Reasons Behind Cancellation of the Latest Leg[edit]

Has the identity of the family member who is ill been released? If the identity is know, should it be kept off this page? (I think it should be, until such time that it is released, if indeed it is released.)

Better pictures?[edit]

Can someone who took photos in concert please add some better shots (of your own, that is)? It's hard to make out anything going on in the first and third photos and I think it would really make the article look better. Y2kcrazyjoker4 14:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two points: One, you cannot use the Live From Chicago video release screenshots that you added into this article, as that is not fair use; you can only use them in the Vertigo: Live From Chicago article, that is, the article that directly describes what the screenshots are from. "Likelihood" that there will be another Vertigo tour DVD[edit]

Thanks for the link. I don't think that this clip is enough to reach the conclusion that the Milan shows will likely be released on DVD. One could also speculate that the Buenos Aires shows will also be on DVD because both of those shows were also filmed and broadcast on Argentinian TV. Until we hear from better sources that the shows will be released, I think we should hold off on speculation.--Truthiness 18:57, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I inserted the statement that Bono told the crowd at the Milan shows that the extra cameras in the stadium were there for a possible DVD. However, the band has been known to film things and then change its mind later in regards to releasing material publicly. As you mentioned, the band has used some of the Milan footage for a fan club only CD-ROM, and it is very possible that the shows will not otherwise see the light of day.--Truthiness 20:21, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tour Dates section wanted here?[edit]

User:85.107.18.15 has added a section with all the tour dates. A lot of other tour articles have this, but the U2 ones haven't (and neither have the Springsteen ones). Do we want such a section? I think it's pointless ... we have an ext references to u2tours.com and other sites like that which have full lists of the dates and set lists ... Personally, I like it. In addition, it would be nice to know who opened / will open for U2 at each concert - especially considering some of the bands (Snow Patrol, Kanye West etc) which they have had opening for them. Another column perhaps? Willnz0 02:23, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there were that many opening acts - ie, each act played for a reasonably long stretch. THus, I'd suggest that if there was another column, it would be fairly repetitive. Subsequent subsequent update – the tour dates got added back in November 2008 by User:Ilikeeggs1 with additional formatting by various IPs. My position on these in general has become, I still think they are unnecessary and I don't add them myself, but I don't advocate taking them out if someone else adds them. Setlists[edit]

OK, now I see from the subsection you added. Some of this duplicates what the existing description already covered, and much of the rest of it, in my opinion, falls into the category of Way Too Much Detail. Also remember that a lot of this detail can be pushed down into the individual song articles, which often describe their appearances and arrangements across the whole U2 concert history. The Stage[edit]

While Willie Willams was responsible for video and show direction, the actual production was designed by Mark Fisher, who has been responsible for every U2 tour since 1992's ZooTV, as well as stages for numerous other artists including The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. Tour Gross[edit]

Amsterdam ArenA[edit]

I removed the 1 before the '60ksomething' attendance at the Amsterdam ArenA. The Amsterdam ArenA seats approximately 50.000 people, there's no way in hell that there were 160.000 people at that concert.
