Untitled[edit]

Interesting. The two astronauts/cosmonauts in the European Parliament are both communists: Umberto Guidoni and Vladimír Remek. – Kaihsu 18:40, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Political identity[edit]

Over a long span of time, there has been constant unmotivated removals of mentions of Guidoni's political affiliation. The last revert had an edit summary stating "Removed "member of Communist Party" because is not true - by Umberto Guidoni", which (if true) would imply a WP:COI problem.

With some googling, it can be understood that Guidoni no longer is a member of PCdI but has left the party and joined Sinistra e Liberta instead. (see [1] and italian interwiki). Such a mention can be included in the article with reference. But there is no reason to remove the mention that Guidoni was in fact elected as a candidate of PCdI in 2004. To avoid stating the party identity of an elected parliamentarian would be quite odd. And the categories 'members of...' do not apply only to current members, but also past members. --Soman (talk) 13:53, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
