Terms of Tomlinson's will[edit]

4meter4, thanks for creating this article. It's one I've thought about doing but never got around to. I'm curious, however, why you think the terms of Tomlinson's will were that the hall should be built after he died rather than after his wife died. I know the Indianapolis Star article says the former, but the Encyclopedia of Indianapolis says the latter. Ordinarily I would rate the encyclopedia as the more reliable source, but I decided to look through the newspapers of the time, and they lead me to believe the Star in this case. Any thoughts? I would trust the encyclopedia over the newspaper. I couldn't get a view of the first page of the encyclopedia on google books when I created the article (it was blocked), and that is where that little fact was located. However, I was able to get a look at it another way today. I think we can go with that, so I reverted back to your adjustment. Sorry for the un-necessary conflict. Thanks for saying something. I found a source that has a copy of the will and other information. The will clearly states that the city would get the residue of the estate after the death of Tomlinson's wife. Indyguy (talk) 22:39, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New and long enough, within policy, Earwig finds no copyvios, QPQ done, image is public domain. ALT1 fact checks out and is more interesting. Original hook isn't supported by the source; it says the building dedication was part of the music festival, but not that the festival was actually held in the building. Good to go.
