Seems fine

Episodes
  • "On the USS Titan, Ensign Brad Boimler struggles while serving under Captain William Riker." Was that a noteworthy part of the plot? IIRC, they just wonder how is Boimler doing, and there's just a scene of a few seconds of Boimler screaming.
It explains why he isn't in the rest of the episode and establishes what he is doing ahead of the second episode. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:38, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really needed to "know where he is". It is usual for TV series to place the narrative focus on some selected characters of the cast, and then on others in the next ones. Nobody should bat an eye because Boimler is not mentioned in an episode where he's not part of the story.
    I would agree if he wasn't in the episode at all. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • "...but is accidentally cloned while he is being transported back to the ship" Is cloning the right word for what happened? It may be more precise to describe him as a transporter duplicate.

  • Micro-managing seems a common expression to me, there is no need for a link.

  • "Boimler is separated from his clone, William, and returns to the Cerritos" That makes it sound as if they were joined by the hip or something. Change the order: he returns to the ship, leaving his clone behind (who simply takes up his job).

Will continue later. Cambalachero (talk) 02:20, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review, I have responded to the above points. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:38, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cast and characters
  • Mariner should have an article by now, she's clearly notable as a character (even took part in a crossover in a live-action form). It's not something that would influence this current review in either way (if everything else is fine and there's no such article, the nomination would pass anyway), but as we are pointing things to do...
    Agreed. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Production
  • It may be hard to recognize McNeill as the actor who played Tom Paris with those big glasses. File:Robert Duncan McNeill by David Twolan.jpg may be better. Neither of them are from actual events related to this series anyway.
     Done - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • COVID-19 pandemic in the United States may be a better link (but it can be a piped link, showing just "COVID-19 pandemic")

  • "...and was not delayed by the pandemic like the live-action Star Trek series were". This can be confusing for the uninitiated, adjectiveless Star Trek is understood to be TOS, and it may be confusing in this context. Better to clarify that we're talking about "Discovery" and "Strange New Worlds".

  • It may be better to use the basic LGBT form, rather than the more complex ones like "LGBTQ". The B already stands for Bisexual, and the series does not address gender topics anyway (such as discrimination or rights), it just features LGBT characters with nobody in-universe taking issue with that.
     Done - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • "He wanted to explore new character combinations, such as telling a story with Mariner and Tendi together", why not mention the episode where that happens?
     Done - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • "It was first mentioned in The Next Generation but was never shown due to budgetary and logistical limitations." Again, please name the episode
     Done - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • "McMahan said it was a dream come true to finally see Cetacean Ops on screen." And what about the Xindi-Aquatics from Star Trek: Enterprise?
    I haven't found any sources making this connection. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • When listing the cast, link the articles to Boimler and Tendi, the characters with existing articles.
They are already linked with their first uses in the production section. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • No source mentioned the obvious reference in the name of the episode "We'll Always Have Tom Paris"? ("We'll always have Paris", from Casablanca)

Will continue later Cambalachero (talk) 19:52, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Responded above. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Release

Seems fine, even if a bit short

Reception
  • "Shamus Kelley of Den of Geek initially stopped watching the series after its first episode, feeling it was a poor imitation of the series Rick and Morty with added Star Trek references." That's an opinion of the first season, not this one. It may be needed for context, but it can be summarized. Cambalachero (talk) 16:29, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
