proposed deletion[edit]

I strongly contest the proposal. There are worse articles on less gifted artists from far more short-lived formations. And Wilson was an accomplished singer and artist without whom the GGQ would most probably not have prospered as they did. For more than 60 years. --Kku (talk) 10:23, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, absolutely, User:Kku. No problem, I removed the proposed deletion. However, if someone were to take it to AfD (Articles for Deletion), it might have some tough sledding, that's a tough crowd there. The article will have to pass the WP:GNG at a minimum, and nowadays even that doesn't seem to enough sometimes. I've seen you've done some work on it just now, and that will help. Good luck. If the article does get nominated for deletion, message me and I'll see if I can do anything to defend it, if I can see my way clear to (can't promise anything). Oh, yes, I now see that the guy's notable. The Golden Gaters were a pretty big deal, I see. I'd say Wilson can be presumed to be notable in the same way that say John Steel (drummer) of the Animals would be, and moreso than say Billy Kinsley of the Merseybeats who are comparative nobody's I guess. So it's just a matter of proving it. Well, there looks to be plenty sources out there. So, yeah, if anybody goes after this article let me know.
As to the photo, it was hard to find anything that said who was who in the group photos, but I finally found this photo which he autographed next to his image. Herostratus (talk) 20:34, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
