In Regards to the timeline regarding "the little league". The first all African American team to make it to the World Series was in 1973, the Belmont Heights Little League Team of Tampa, Fl Coached by Cleo Stinyard Sr. I have the article and you can also research it. It is an important piece of little league history.Is it possible to have this added once you confirm? Rules confidential?[edit]

I think the paragraph regarding the rules being confidential is somewhat misleading and not fully supported by the citation. Frankly I'm not certain this even warrants being mentioned. According to the article each team is provided two copies of the rules. It does strike me as exceedingly odd that umpires aren't automatically provided copies (though I'm sure they would fall under "authorized" if they requested them) but surely they are provided training. Certainly the playing rules are essentially the same as the "Official Baseball Rules" with very minor differences reflecting the smaller scale (distance between bases etc). One doesn't need a copy of the official Little League rules to determine if a ball that strikes third base is foul or fair.

If I find some time I may rewrite this to indicate the rules are essentially the same and point out the main areas where they differ, while possibly noting that the actual rules are available on a need-to-know basis.

The guy in the article comes across as a major whiner. He said he wanted the rules but when they offered to sell him a copy he refused because it's "bigger" than him. Sounds like he thinks he's pretty big as it is. But he managed to find someone in the media to listen to his whining. Gr8white (talk) 23:43, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been a coach and an umpire in Little League and my wife is on the board of our local Little League. I don't think the rules are confidential I think the rule book is copyright. In otherwords, its not that Little League doesn't want anyone to know they rules, its that they want to sell the rule book (which umpires must purchase) and not have that information copied to the web, --99.0.1.120 (talk) 17:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where should the The Little League Pledge be mentioned here. And can it be copied here word for word. There is no copyright notice on the document. I played in dunbar little league from 1999 until 2008 blastball tball minor b minor a and MAJORS in BC Canada I played In the district tornament9/10 twiceand the 11/12 once and the provincails twice. Loads of fun just thanking little league baseball
