Untitled[edit]

I am constructing this page in collaboration with the Museum of Nebraska Art. The Museum provided me with the original text, which they used on their own website. But I have edited and extended the article, and will continue to do so in the future as new information and images become available.Charles D. Laughlin 17:08, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could probably got WP:GA with this article. It's of pretty good quality. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 22:33, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This set of sentences "he enlisted in the Navy and was rapidly promoted from chief boatswain's mate to lieutenant on special assignment as an artist. His final rank was Chief Petty Officer" doesn't really make sense. A Chief Boatswain's Mate is a Chief Petty Officer and before 1958 was the senior non-commissioned officer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_Petty_Officer_%28United_States%29). A Lieutenant is a commissioned officer and higher ranking than a Chief. Perhaps the Lieutenant rank was a temporary wartime rank that was only valid during the duration of the war and on separation he was restored to his actual rank? - Fred B. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.248.80.226 (talk) 00:26, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Should this be moved to John Falter?[edit]

Wikipedia guidelines say the default form is first name + last name. It is also said that he was normally known as "John Falter". It would seem this would be the best name for the article.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:33, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
