The result of the move request was: moved per request. Favonian (talk) 15:26, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song) was redirected because it does not meet WP:GNG nor WP:NSONG, and now It's a Wrap (Mariah Carey song) is the only "It's a Wrap" with an article. Heartfox (talk) 04:35, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move to It's a Wrap (song) if the name "Mariah Carey" is unhelpful to Mariah Carey fans. But this was not released as a single and although someone has made a giant article doesn't warrant replacing the dab page. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:25, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'd note that It's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song) was located at It's a Wrap for eighteen years and no one suggested it be moved to It's a Wrap (song). Heartfox (talk) 19:42, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment The merging of It's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song) was made undiscussed by OP immediately prior to opening this RM. The song charted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, so per WP:NSONG, it may be considered notable. I've undone the merger; I'd recommend a proper AFD before continuing this RM discussion. 162 etc. (talk) 16:32, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
An AfD was opened at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/It's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song). Heartfox (talk) 19:25, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support both moves as this is the obvious primary topic. Note that I've also supported Heartfox's position in the AfD on the Mary J. Blige song. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 19:14, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Whether or not the other article is deleted, pageviews show that this song is the overwhelming WP:primary topic. - Station1 (talk) 19:33, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I agree with the above support comments that this appears to be the primary topic. I had also participated in the AfD, where I recommended the Mary J. Blige song be redirected to the parent album due to the lack of significant coverage from reliable, third-party sources. However, as Station1 has already put it, regardless of what happens to that article, this one is still the primary topic so I believe that is a solid reason for this move. Interpolation of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way"[edit]

Not only does this song sample Love Unlimited's I Belong to You that the late Barry White wrote, but apparently, according to genius.com, the lyrics "know you see" from verse one and "Bump-bump-bump" from verse two appear to interpolate the piano from Aretha Franklin's Ain't No Way. Strange neither her late sister Carolyn (who wrote Ain't No Way) nor Aretha herself were given credit, and I don't see any plagiarism cases or lawsuits. Genius isn't a reliable source for sample credits. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 22:04, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
