	Evolutionary biology portal This article is part of WikiProject Evolutionary biology, an attempt at building a useful set of articles on evolutionary biology and its associated subfields such as population genetics, quantitative genetics, molecular evolution, phylogenetics, and evolutionary developmental biology. A bit narrow, isn't it?[edit]

The scope of this glossary seems awfully specific compared to most of the other glossaries of science. What if it was expanded to include additional terms and concepts from population biology and evolutionary biology?

Glossaries covering two of the broader sub-disciplines of biology, genetics and ecology, already exist, but it would be nice to have a page that emphasizes technical concepts more related to evolutionary biology as a whole – things like the various mechanisms of selection, evolutionary tempo and mode, and perhaps some of the concepts from phylogenetics or population genetics (the vocabularies for which are much too expansive to squeeze elsewhere). The existing speciation terms on this page would still be relevant within that broader category, and I think the entire glossary would benefit from a more comprehensive scope. In such a case, a change of the article's title might be in order: maybe from "Glossary of speciation" to "Glossary of evolutionary biology"? – PJsg1011 (talk) 00:47, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
