Bottaccione Gorge??[edit]

I'm not a geologist but I remember listening to an In Our Time programme about the KT boundary which described the Bottaccione gorge being as being very clear evidence of dinosaur extinction. I was astonished to realise that I couldn't find it. Have I misunderstood something or is this an important omission? If so, can I request it. Regards JRPG (talk) 16:44, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NOT written for lay people! (Nearly worthless.)[edit]

I write on historical geology (with my books, at one time, sold in 27 U.S. National Parks), and consider the example this piece offers as emblematic of why PEOPLE CANNOT OR WILL NOT APPRECIATE GEOLOGY, because, Wikipedia, GEOLOGISTS SHOULD NEVER WRITE for lay people because they cannot provide the ESSENTIAL HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE AND CONTEXT that require to understand geology. Why, for example, NO CONTEXT, such as the mountain faulting and forming in northern Italy is due to the collision of tectonic plates, or the caused by the same forces that mean Italy is prone to earthquakes. Please, Wikipedia, get away from the "we have this rock" and "we have that rock" piecemeal writing on geology AND GET SOMEONE WHO CAN WRITE BASED HISTORICAL GEOLOGY FULLY INCLUSIVE OF CONTEXT WITHIN GLOBAL TECTONIC FORCES AND TRENDS! 2601:8C1:C100:9B0:8C65:A3C9:36A9:621A (talk) 14:39, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
