Should not be merged. This is a perfectly good topic in its own right. Charles Matthews 19:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless of whether this is a good topic in its own right or not, there is no place for it in topological space: should the latter article include every topology that anyone has ever thought of? Geometry guy 00:51, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's a rather extreme jump. Perhaps there should be an article called "Examples of Topological Spaces" or something like that. Myrkkyhammas 09:35, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, really, why? It is good to have articles on typical constructions such as Vietoris topology and Fell topology and Zariski topology and this one. Examples of topologies tend to be illustrative, a source of countexamples and so on; i.e. mostly of pedagogic value. Where there is going to be a need for someone to use WP as a reference (definitely the case for this one), an article is justified. Charles Matthews 11:22, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
