Stonewalling[edit]

I do not think stonewalling is "emotional withdrawal". Its just not responding to the opponents, ignoring their messages, or at best responding dismissively. 92.29.88.100 (talk) 21:24, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article Changes[edit]

Below is a list of proposed changes I intend to make, any feedback is appreciated:

Update the lead section to include appropriate references and objectivity, expand on the passive, aggressive, and assertive communication paragraphs, remove the passive-aggressive portion, update the page to provide more detailed information while remaining objective.

Hi Cimone,

I think you have gotten off on a good start with your article. I would suggest providing sources for your factual information, for instance when you are discussing the construct of behavioral communication in your lead section. I am sure you will do the same once you expand on the other sections as well. I noticed next to stonewalling it said "(emotional withdrawal)", I could be wrong and please correct me if I am, but I thought stonewalling was more so of not communicating in a cooperative manner. Where the person may be very vague with their responses or not answer questions at all, just making it difficult to communicate with them at that time. Not necessarily withdrawn from emotions. What do you think?

"The current citation of this article: Ivanov, M., & Werner, P. D. Behavioral communication: Individual differences in communication style. Personality and Individual Differences (2010), doi:10.1016/j.paid.2010.02.033" I did not think this information was needed in the direct article itself, but definitely include it in your references when you are citing the information that goes along with it.

Overall great start and I look forward to seeing how your article grows!! Melissa Edwards (talk) 15:12, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SocPsych Peer Edit[edit]

Hi Cimone!

Your overall article looks like it has a pretty solid foundation. What I noticed off the bat was the lack of citing references. Have you been able to find sources that back up your different sections, specifically talking about the 4 different types of communication? I see that you have put so ideas for sources here on the talk page. Hopefully those along with a couple of these will help: Ivanov, M. & Werner, P.D. (2010) Behavioral communication: Individual differences in communication style. Personality and Individual Differences. 49 (1), 19-23. This article has great potential and is a really neat topic! You might want to also think of editing/adding more information on behavioral communication theory as a whole including its history. I also noticed there were a few cases of references in the first person narrative. Consider revising/taking out of some of those areas (specifically the references of "you").

I revised a sentence in your lead section and added a reference. Feel free to use or re-edit!

Good Luck! Looks great so far! -MK --Mkburnett4 (talk) 17:06, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
