– Per MOS:TM, MOS:CAPS and WP:NCBC.

  1. It is called Be-In, not Be-Aye-Enn, so "BeIn" would be appropriate.
  2. The Qatari company considers the brand name to be a one-word, so you can expect "BeIn" to be a CamelCase word.
  3. Per the WP manuals, all the first letter in each brand name must be capitalised (with the very few exceptions like Apple's iProducts), so it should be "BeIn". However, it can be noted in the lead section that the name is stylised as beIN in their logos. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:44, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - please note that per WP:NCBC channels and networks when need to be disambiguated, are to be done as (TV channel) and (TV network). If a country is needed (such as in this case) it should be (Australian TV channel) (or network, the articles are not clear). So whatever the outcome is, I oppose the ones that are not following NCBC until they are fixed. --Gonnym (talk) 16:37, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Gonnym: Note that all versions of BeIn Sports and BeIn Series are operated as a group of channels (rather than a single channel), so "(... TV channel)" (which denotes a single channel) would be inappropriate. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 10:44, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Then the articles which call them channels are wrong. As one says beIN Sports is a Canadian exempt English language Category B specialty channel and also use the "sister channels" fields in the infobox. If they are a network, then they should be called network and use (TV network) disambiguation. --Gonnym (talk) 11:05, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
        • You are right about BeIn Sports Canada. Why didn't I notice that... Anyway, isn't television network a group of local terrestrial TV stations relaying a national programme with some local opt-outs added in? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 17:41, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
          • This changes per country and their system, but the best thing is to follow sources and use what they call it, and be consistent in the use of the term in the article - including the lead and infobox ("sister channel" is not a "catch-all" term). --Gonnym (talk) 12:40, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose for the usual reasons (insert usual Wikipedia style vs. reliable sources style debate here). Google News search shows 100% of the top 20 news stories capitalizing "IN" and nobody using lowercase "in". It is apparently a key part of their name. This falls under an Apple-esque exception. SnowFire (talk) 18:48, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per SnowFire. Virtually every reliable source spells out the name as "beIN". If anything the first letter should be changed to lower case. Elspamo4 (talk) 00:48, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. "BeIn" looks wrong and will cause confusion if it was used. —Xezbeth (talk) 12:36, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Moved and MENA ones moved instead to Middle East TV network L293D ( • ) 13:44, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

– Requesting caps and suffix changes per MOS:CAPS and WP:NCBC. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:15, 1 October 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. IffyChat -- 21:23, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose the "MENA" ones, support the others. I don't have a good answer on the "MENA" ones, but I think we'll be forced to spell out "Middle East and North Africa", though we can probably get away with just disambig'ing with "Middle East TV network" with a redirect at "North Africa TV network". I'm going to once again ping Gonnym as I believe he's more knowledgeable about WP:NCBC than I am... --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:05, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - I'll take your nominations in faith that you've researced which is a channel and which is a network and will support it. Regarding the MENA - according to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Abbreviations#Acronyms as disambiguators - using "MENA" should be fine, however "MENA" is not listed in Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Abbreviations#Exceptions and I'm not sure how common that acronym is. At any rate, I'm ok with supporting it for now to move this forward and if someone wants to raise this issue again at a later date with specific reasons for this, I'm good with that as well. --Gonnym (talk) 11:18, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't find "MENA" to be WP:RECOGNIZABLE. I think it has to be spelled out. The compromise with WP:CONCISE is what I proposed above: BeIN Series (Middle East TV network), with redirects at BeIN Series (North African TV network) and BeIN Series (Middle East and North African TV network). --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:02, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'd agree with "Middle East TV network", MENA and Middle East are interchangeable (according to most definitions) but the latter is much more recognizable and concise. Elspamo4 (talk) 18:34, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The MENA ones are technically available in both the Middle East and North Africa regions, but I admit I'll have to agree with you. Although, shouldn't it be written "(Middle Eastern TV network)"? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 10:44, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it could be either "Middle East TV network" or "Middle Eastern TV network" – the former is just a little bit more WP:CONCISE. --IJBall (contribstalk) 05:13, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

a small rant to beIN[edit]

beIN is fine except that he tried to buy the entire baraem channel and changed it to the trashiest rebrand in 1/01/17, but good thing beIN ruined just only once so nothing bad happens to steal another channel, i do stil like beIN but i hate how he rebranded all of the baraem channel Kikoabdou300 (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
