Top section needs a lot of work[edit]

The top section needs to be rewritten -- better yet, integrated into the article as a whole. It is quoted pretty much verbatim from the libcom.org article. It lacks headings and citations as well. Interesting to read, but it seems dumped on top. ifny (talk) 08:00, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ballantyne Pier article separate?[edit]

Shouldn't there be a separate article foer the pier? Partly architecturally, but it does have more history to it than the Battle; I'm thinking that the old A-B Pier (what's left is the pilings beneath BC Place; this was the old main railhead/CPR liner dock) and others are noteworthy also, as with the grain terminals and old sugar refinery (Rogers or BC Sugar, or is that the same?).Skookum1 05:03, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There definitely should be, it could be on someone's to-do list already. I'll add it to mine anyway. And some of mine occasionally even get done, such as Active Pass earlier today. Gee, at this rate, the rest'll be done in 2020. By the way, I am truly impressed with the article and photos compiled on this page to this point in time, thanks in largest part to Bobanny, who has diligently etched away at it for some time. --Keefer4 | Talk 05:24, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did a bunch today after noticing User:Bookandcoffee put the notice that it'll be featured on the Organized Labour Portal. But yeah, the pier could use an article. It featured cutting edge technology when it first opened in 1923, though I think most of the original buildings have been replaced. Some stuff could be used to beef up the Port of Vancouver article in the meantime. Also, I lumped J. S. Matthews and the archives into a single article, which should be separated at some point. I noticed that the City of Vancouver Archives did a bit of work on it, including donating a photo. Now there's an archives ya gotta like. bobanny 07:10, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
