Expansion[edit]

This interesting article could be expanded in nearly all its areas, especially non-Anglican use of the title. A list of famous Archdeacons would also be helpful as a person could go there and see how some of the duties of this office have been fulfilled in the past.--Wowaconia 15:16, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anglican Communion[edit]

Re: [1] and [2] - Serves the church? Serves the Gospel? Both? The encyclopedic point is that the role is not merely administrative, nor purely inwards looking. That is the issue the source is careful to express. Regards, Springnuts (talk) 13:56, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Executive archdeacons[edit]

I recently came across an official in a Canadian diocese who, two years after ordination, was appointed Executive Archdeacon of the Diocese of Fredericton. I gleaned that maybe she had a background in ecclesiastical admin before her ordination, but she would be essentially be a facilitator rather than a senior manager. [3]
