question[edit]

Is the approval of the pope required for the consecration of a chorbishop of an Eastern-rite Catholic church? 108.45.151.174 (talk) 00:02, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong way round[edit]

I removed this sentence, as it is not sourced, and it seems to run contrary (to my reading!) of other sources that are on the page, and elsewhere:

This act introduced a rigid separation between the State order and the religious order, coherent with [[secularism|secular]] and [[laicism|laicist]]{{disambiguation needed}} view of law.

My understanding is, rather the church seeking a "rigid separation of the state from religion", it is the church's way of promoting its independence and religious freedom from the state. That is a perhaps small, but important, difference.[1][2] Happy to discuss the point. 49.177.73.238 (talk) 11:30, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Related but different argument[edit]
