Further developing this article[edit]

I came across many citation issues in this article that should be resolved. Several of Antonello da Messina's works are cited, yet do not have Wikipedia pages of their own (Portrait of a Man, The Dead Christ Supported by an Angel, Virgin of the Annunciation). Furthermore, the page provides a link to Marco Constanzo, who also does not have his own Wikipedia page. The article only contains three sources and only one of these sources (Barbera 2005) is cited throughout the essay. While this is a reliable source that can be found online at the library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the article would benefit from additional references. The section titled "early career" includes information that is not properly cited. For example, the paragraph that references Antonello da Messina's meeting with Petrous Christus does not have any references to back up the information included. The paragraph that begins with Antonello's father leasing a brigantine from Amantea is also lacking citations.

The article would also benefit from a section providing information about Antonello's private life. The section titled "early career" references when he was married and when his son, Jacobello, was born, yet it does not provide dates. These facts, in addition to other personal information, could go into a new section titled "private life."

Finally, I believe the article contains grammatical errors that are distracting to the reader. The removal of these errors would make it easier for a Wikipedia user to retrieve the information they need from the article. Aquinnah.fox (talk) 21:02, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
