@Sbeetham and HopperCa: Hi, thanks for the additions. I am trying to sort out, though, what happened to the citations. There are placemarkers instead of citation tags. As soon as someone introduces a new citation, the numbers will be thrown off.
If something says "[3]" in this version, does it mean that it's #3 in the list of References?–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:07, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you mean. I asked students to create a version of their article in a Word doc before adding it to Wikipedia, and I wonder if some of the citation tags may have inadvertently been turned into placemarkers during the process of copying and pasting. Let me contact the students offsite and see if they have saved a version of the article that we can use to make sure everything lines up. As for the question about original research: all added material should have come from the secondary sources that the students found over the course of the semester.Sbeetham (talk) 19:45, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Another option for doing work is to start it in their sandboxes. That way they can copy over and retain the marking, citations, etc.–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:52, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Sbeetham and HopperCa:, I have gone ahead and started returning the citations for original content - and I'm adding {{cn}} tags where I don't know what the citation is, or a citation had not been provided. I think that I've caught the citation issues, but I will take a break and do a final review just to be sure that there were no crossed wires. @Sbeetham and HopperCa: Sorry to ping again. I ran the copyvio detector to check out a source. Instead, I found close paraphrasing in the new Woman's education section. See the rose colored highlights here and this source. There is more information about this and how to resolve it at WP:Close paraphrasing.
Another option is to remove the Woman's education section, since these is essentially covered in the articles about the institutions, which readers can access by clicking the wikilinks.--–CaroleHenson (talk) 04:04, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
