Question on Samuel Barber's poem[edit]

How could Samuel Barber's "Knoxville: Summer of 1915" which was written in 1947 be based on "A Death in the Family," which was not published until 1957?Dutchman Schultz (talk) 17:25, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix the syntax...[edit]

... of the list beginning 'According to Lofaro, McDowell's alterations include:'

Several points follow, each of which ought to flow on, grammatically, from the words 'McDowell's alterations include'. But they don't, and it is irksome to read - and so many careless writers do this when presenting information in point form!

Just one example:

'According to Lofaro, McDowell's alterations include chapters were removed.'

It ought to be written:

According to Lofaro, McDowell's alterations include the removal of chapters.'
