Lee Ann Colacioppo

Lee Ann Colacioppo, née Fleet,[1] is an American journalist who in 2016 became the first female editor in chief of The Denver Post.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Colacioppo is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver[3] and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.[4]
Career[edit]
She was an editor at The Des Moines Register[5] and has since worked for The Denver Post for 17 years as city editor, investigations editor, news editor, and in her capacity as editor of the newspaper. In 2012, she played a leading role in the newspaper's Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the 2012 Aurora, Colorado shooting, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting the following year, in 2013.[2]
In May 2016, she succeeded Gregory L. Moore, The Post's top editor for 14 years as the newspaper's editor.[2]
On June 28, 2016, Denver alternative newspaper Westword reported that The Post had newsroom layoffs after buyouts of 20 journalists failed to reach the newspaper's target of 26 job cuts in the newsroom.[6]
