Summary

Description
English: SMS Gneisenau, photographed while in foreign waters, possibly at the Suez Canal. This ship conducted numerous overseas cruises during 1882 until 1900 when she was lost in a hurricane on the Spanish coast. The original print of this photo is marked H. Arnoux, presumably the photographer.
Date Source states the photo is from the 1890s, though based on the paint scheme, this was likely taken in the 1880s.
