The University of Iowa women’s wrestling program is the first NCAA Division I power five conference school to start a women’s wrestling program.
History[edit]
Women’s Wrestling at the University of Iowa began in 2021 with the introduction of Clarissa Chun as the head coach.[2] Individual competition commenced during the 2022-2023 season, and the Iowa Hawkeyes had their inaugural team season during the 2023-2024 season. Carver-Hawkeye Area hosted the first home women’s dual, Trailblazer Dual, November 12, 2023.
