Editor's Message
Bienvenue! Velkommen! Welcome!

With only a matter of days until the Junior Eurovision Song Contest taking place, the eyes of the Eurovision world turn to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. This will be the second time that Kiev has played host to Junior Eurovision, and the third time they've hosted an EBU Song Contest - whether it be Junior or Adult Eurovision. Türkvizyon 2013 takes place in December, with national selections already underway. The article Türkvizyon 2013 still needs an interactive participation map doing, and this process may take a little longer than usual, as we're not just dealing with the average map of nations, but also have to work on regional areas within nations too. Please try and avoid uploading your own versions, and leave the complexed technical stuff to the experts.

Project Eurovision has undergone a major transformation, with the entire project space receiving a Extreme Makeover-style revamp. What do you think to the new look? Is it easier to navigate around? The project now has its very own A-class review board, so if there are articles which you think qualify for an A-quality assessment, then submit your nominations by clicking here.

Remember to maintain a teamwork atmosphere, it is that which makes us one of the most efficient projects on Wikipedia. And also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.

Happy editing! Wesley

Project News
  • 2011 and 2013 articles will finally get their GA reviews done this month - hallelujah!
  • There have been a large number of articles being created, such as Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which have not had their talk pages created and project assessments assigned. May we all please remember to create the talk pages at the time we create new articles. Don't be lazy and expect others to finish off for you.
  • Project Eurovision was mentioned in Wikipedia's Signpost newsletter on 9 October 2013. Did any of you see it? There's plans to have a full editorial interview in a future edition of the Signpost. I will keep you all updated about that nearer the time, as the reporters may wish to interview a selection of project members.
  • And for those who may have been hiding under a rock the last few weeks, the project pages have gone under a major revamp and easier navigable tabs to access every bit of the project with much ease. Feel free to share your views on this new revamp via the project talk page.
  • Finally, for those who may recall in our October edition there was the chance to share your feedback on the layout of this newsletter. I'd like to thank Lucky102 for posting the only feedback regarding the newsletter. There's some WikiLove on its way to you.

Eurovision Song Contest 2014

  • At the time of publication, thirty countries have announced their participation, with Portugal returning. Some editors have been adding Greece as confirmed based on a news report published by Oikotimes. Please be aware that Oikotimes are not always reliable, and the report itself states that the EBU "might" give the new broadcaster (NERIT) full active membership. "Might" does not classify as a 100% solid confirmation. Avoid publishing speculation on this or any article regarding Greece's participation.

ABU Radio Song Festival 2014

  • The dates for this competition have been confirmed as being on 23 May 2014, a couple of weeks after the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 grand final. Please be on the look out for news reports regarding this festival.

ABU TV Song Festival 2014

  • The 2014 edition is scheduled to take place in Macau, China. Dates for the festival have yet to be confirmed. Already the ABU are looking towards the 2015 edition. Generally the festivals coincide with the ABU General Assembly, which in 2015 takes place in Istanbul, Turkey. However, Indonesia have placed a bid to host the festival. If successful, will make it the first time the festival will take place outside of a General Assembly.
