I am a regular editor on Messi–Ronaldo rivalry and actually compiled a significant part of the initial article. Thanks for shortening the page name, but can I ask you what made you change the order of the names around? - 1. Observation/opinion (e.g. retired, beautiful, etc.)
- 2. Size (e.g. big, small, etc.)
- 3. Shape (e.g. round, square, etc.)
- 4. Age (e.g. young, old, etc.)
- 5. Colour (e.g. red, blue, green, etc.)
- 6. Nationality (e.g. Brazilian, English, etc.)
- 7. Material (e.g. metallic, wooden, etc.)
- 8. Purpose/qualifier (e.g. passenger [seat], digital [camera], mobile [phone], etc.)

- @Czar: There wasn't, but I felt the need to add it for the sake of recently discontinued online games like FIFA World and Need for Speed: World and the confusion being caused by IP editors due to the lack of such information in the infobox, so I just went ahead and took the WP:BEBOLD route. Nicknames: no consensus for your edits
Hi, Dave. I have reverted your recent "nickname" edits to the Katie Ledecky and Missy Franklin articles. Contrary to popular misconception, there is not now, nor has there ever been a consensus that the Michael "Mike" Smith construction in the lead sentence of our bio articles is mandatory or even desirable in all cases. In many cases in which the nickname is a simple and commonly used diminutive of the subject's given name, including it in the bolded statement of the subject's full name is unnecessary, redundant, a little bit goofy, and insults the intelligence of our readers. Please review the recent MOS discussion @ Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biographies. In fact, in the absence of a Wikipedia-wide standard, several WikiProjects, including those for golf and swimming have explicitly rejected the Michael "Mike" Smith construction as redundant, and have included a nickname parameter in the infobox for golfers and swimmers. Diagram
Hello, I like the look of the football field diagrams you've created. If I was to send you an image of a diagram from a book on Australian rules football, do you think you could create an svg version based on it and upload to Commons? The diagram is intended for the playing style and captaincy section of the Tom Wills article. It is my plan to eventually nominate it as a featured article, so I think the diagram needs to be up to scratch and I just don't have the talent for that. - @HappyWaldo: Maybe I could, but I think I'd actually have to know something about Australian rules football to do the diagram justice, plus I don't really have the time at the moment, so I'm not sure whether I can do it. - Don't worry, the diagram is fairly simple in design. Here it is. It depicts a tactical manoeuvre performed in 1860. Back then the sport (like other football games) was very primitive. Not many rules, no set field dimensions, no markings on the field like penalty areas and such, no set number of players. If you can create a version of it, one little detail to keep in would be the kick off posts (they are represented by much smaller posts either side of the goal posts). It may be difficult to read, but in the bottom right of the page is an arrow with the word "Kick". The bottom left is a measurement, but as I said, field size was very random back then, so it can be left out. Feel free to make the field green like on your association football diagrams.
